Getting out all of our cake making equipment she found this in the cupboard:

Now I had brought this ages ago and I can't even remember where from it was that long ago, it was then decided we would make gingerbread (well obviously gingerbread wouldn't work using these moulds so we make gingercake instead).
What we used:
- 125g golden syrup
- 100g butter
- 100g caster sugar
- 3 tsp ground ginger
- 2 eggs
- 200ml milk
- 225g self-raising flour
I would love to tell you we gently added the all of the ingredients a little at a time mixing gently however I was cooking with Emmy and it was early so we actually just threw everything into a bowl and mixed well.
We poured into the moulds and cooked for 25-30 minutes. After leaving to cool we made some plain icing using icing sugar and water and poured over the men. I then left Emmy to decorate as she wanted with icing pens. She had a great time and also insisted we added buttons.

Emmy enjoyed making these more than she enjoyed eating them, but that didn't surprise me at all.
I wish I had greased the moulds a little as it was rather tricky to remove the finished cakes - I will remember for next time.
