I’ve a bit of a love/hate relationship with slogans on clothing, I’m not usually one to gravitate towards these when shopping.
I think personally I own one jumper with writing on it and the kids only have a couple.
I think it’s mainly because they are generic and mass-produced and I clearly remember the non uniform days of my childhood when nearly the whole class would go in wearing almost identical outfits.
That was up until recently when I was introduced to a new company called Charlie Bean’s, they make and produce casual clothing which uses cool playful illustrations to spell out a word that can relate to person wearing it. They have a lovely selection of T-shirts and Hoodies for both adults and children.
Here are just a few to show you:
So instead of the word “Sweetheart” the images of a sweet and a heart are used on the shirts. There are 6 different tops to choose from:
- Book Worm
- Brain Box
- Sweet Heart
- Charlie Bean’s
- Butter Fingers
- Face Plant
and there are 8 different colour choices to choose from (each for the Hoodie and the T-shirt)
- Light Blue
The company was set up as a dedication to the owners nephew (Charlie) who very sadly passed away in October 2015 in a tragic accident. The brand is an official partner of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, a donation of 10% of every sale from the website goes to this charity. It’s a fantastic charity that Charlie’s parents chose after he died, so that people could donate and do something positive in his memory rather than sending flowers.
I can’t help it. I just love these and so does my little book-worm
I’ve teamed up with Charlie Bean’s to bring you a giveaway where one lucky reader can win not only a hoodie in their choice of colour and slogan but a t-shirt too.
