20 months old and a huge milestone

I honestly have no idea where my baby has gone.
He seems to be growing up far too quickly.
A confident and cheeky monkey.
He loves to make us laugh.
He pretends to cry when he doesn’t get his own way.
He has almighty tantrums to rival his sisters.
He loves his food.
He can count to 10, sometimes making it to 12.
He loves to bounce, especially on the trampoline.
I can’t believe he is growing up so fast.
How big does he look?

He now has size 7 feet and wears age 2-3 clothes.
Aged 20 months he is already taller than his friends, one of which is a year older.
He surprises me every single day.
New words.
New songs.
New milestones.
Tonight, another one has past.
We moved him out of his cot and into a toddler bed.
Tonight he has a gate on his door.
No sides to contain.
The room has been made safe.
He is asleep.
It took an hour to get him to sleep and so far so good.
I may not be saying that in the morning.
It maybe a mistake.
Time will tell.
What I do know is I refused to climb into his cot like he made me do last night.  Climbing in was easy, climbing out………almost impossible.

  1. They really do grow up so quickly! My daughter is the same age and surprises me all of the time. It is nice to hear your son has bigger feet than my daughter – she is a size 6 already and gets some strange looks! And I'm hearing you on the tantrums! They seem so much worse second time around don't they!

  2. How precious they are..despite every irritation ;P I have two, 7 & 6 and all I can say is you swap one set of behaviour for another. And to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way…I used to stress about binkys and blankies and the appropriate age to disengage from them…and now I miss it all, enjoy every minute, Clare, it's a magical age 🙂 x
