Adding a little excercise into my day

A few years ago I made a conscious effort to get my health and fitness back on track, after having the kids I had put on around 3 stone and it was time to do something about it.

I started on my 5:2 journey alongside my Thinking Slimmer Slim Pod.

It took around 3 weeks of listening to my Slim Pod daily before I began to notice a change in my eating habits, I would stop eating when I was full instead of finishing what was on my plate (something I had always had drummed into me as a child) and when I was hungry I would have a pint of water and only then if I was still hungry would I eat.

I made an effort to drink at least 5 pints of water a day and cut back on drinking alcohol and by doing this I found limiting myself to 500 calories 2 days a week was rather easy and not something I had to think about.

Within around 9 months I had lose just over 2 stone and I was so happy.

Of course will all lifestyle changes unless you keep them up then the weight is always going to creep back on which it has and I now weigh the same as I did before.

I am so cross with myself for allowing this to happen especially as I have a friends wedding in 3 weeks time and another in 8 weeks time but all is not lost.

2 weeks ago I treated myself to an Ab Crunch machine which I could use at home – this is a small machine which folds away (essential in this cluttered house) which can be used for sit-ups, push-ups, scissor kicks, forearm/bicep workouts, triceps, bridges, ab tucks, bicycling and much more

I know that I would never push myself to visit the gym, even though I have one in the next road to me, it’s not for me – I hate being around others when I get red raced and struggle to keep up in classes so doing some exercise at home is always better for me.

So far I have managed to do 50 sit-ups 5 days a week and 40 push-ups 5 days a week, and weekly I will be increasing this amount and adding new exercises into my daily routine. I am finding that using this machine is far easier than attempting sit-ups on my own and I am far quicker too.

I am also adding in extra walking to my day hitting 10,000 steps most weekdays and I am being more careful with my eating too.

With only a few weeks to shift a bit of the weight which went back on I have been reading supplement reviews and looking at a list of their favourite products seeing if any would suit to add for a short-term kick start to my health and fitness kick.

I’ve begun adding extra water to my diet again and watching what I eat – working from home is a killer for snacking so I am trying to ensure I don’t end up eating 2 dinner sized portions for both lunch and dinner – a bad habit I had slipped into.

So far I have managed to lose 9lbs in 2 weeks and I am very determined that I will shift another 2 stone – not necessarily before either of these 2 weddings but soon and more importantly PERMANENTLY.
