Beanies Yogart maker – review & giveaway

Both my children love yogurt.  I really should start to keep a tally of how much I spend a week/month on that alone as we get through a shocking amount – not that I mind as it’s not exactly bad for them.
In fact it’s packed with calcium and fruit so I definitely don’t mind.
It’s not cheap though.
Recently Beanies asked if I would like to try their new yogart maker.  A machine to make homemade yogurt at home.  Of course I was happy to try it out.
When it arrived I wasn’t sure what to expect to be honest, having never made yogurt before I was a little worried it would be a complex process or that the kids wouldn’t like it.
I needn’t have worried at all.
In the box was the yogart maker – base unit, clear lid and a litre container with a tight fitting lid.  It also came with 6 sachets of the yogart mix in the various flavours.

To make the yogart is extremely simple:
  • Empty the sachet mix into a bowl
  • Add 1/2 litre of cold water
  • Mix well
  • Add another 1/2 Litre cold water
  • Mix well
  • Pour into the yogart maker (the small tub is placed into the base unit) place on the clear lid
  • Turn on and leave for 8 hours

We started by making Strawberry as this is Emmy’s favourite.  She helped to make it and had a great time doing so – however so did get bored waiting and kept asking if it was ready yet.  In hindsight making this in the morning before she goes to school would be best as then she can enjoy with her dinner in the evening.

I found that 8 hours wasn’t long enough and our yogurt hadn’t set in that time, I just left it and kept checking and after around 10 it was ready.  Once chilled the chief testers did their thing and the bowls were soon emptied and they were asking for more.

I guess that means they liked it as a litre of yogurt was consumed in just under a week.  We have since made the Greek yogart and it is rather yummy.

Once made this keeps in the fridge for up to a week.

This starter bundle complete with 6 sachets of yogart mix costs £20 and will make 6 litres of yogurt.  You can then buy the sachets separately from the website –

The 6 flavour available are:

  • Apple & Pomegranate
  • Greek Style
  • Lemon

  1. i love all yogart especially the thick set and mango yogart and also coconut yogart are my fav flavours at the moment

  2. Though there are many I enjoy, my favourite yoghurt flavour has to be banana, with lemon as a close second.
