Bigjigs figure of 8 train track – it won’t send you round the bend

Recently my Play Patrol Agent was sent a Bigjigs figure of 8 train track to play with.
Train tracks are timeless and unisex toys which everyone loves.
It’s actually something we’ve had on our to buy list for a while now but hadn’t gotten around to.
The figure of 8 train track comes in a lovely box (if not slightly oversized once all the packaging is removed).
Inside you will find:
  • Tunnel/bridge made of 2 pieces
  • 2 long straight track pieces
  • 12 curved track pieces
  • 1 engine train
  • 3 carriages
  • 3 cars
  • 4 trees
  • 4 people
  • 3 houses with removable roof’s
  • 2 signs

The great thing about wooden train tracks is that when Harry is older they can play together and you can add to the sets to extend them.
The track itself if great for fine motor skills when building the track.
It also helps improve hand/eye coordination when lining up the track pieces and placing the vehicles onto the track.
Imaginative play and language skills are worked upon when playing as we discuss where the train is going, what  it may see, people who go on the train etc.

Emmy also likes to make the people talk to each other and discuss where they are off to and what is for dinner.
This toy is very well made and fast becoming a favourite for when Harry is asleep – he breaks it when awake.
When Harry stops constantly trying to spoil the fun then Emmy can use the train track to help him with his colour recognising and counting by using the lovely vehicles.
Emmy is also problem solving using this set as she decided she didn’t want a figure of 8 shape so she had to work out independently (I like to let her try for herself) how to change the track size.  She soon worked out that by using fewer pieces she could make the shape.
Priced at £21.99 we love this track.
