Peter Rabbit inspired Carrot Soup with Cheesy Bunny Bread Dippers #TastyTales

I’ve been invited to take part in the Happy Feaster Blog Tour by Ladybird Books and The Happy Foodie.   We have been asked to take storytelling from the page to the kitchen by creating a Spring recipe inspired by the Tales of Peter Rabbit!  I’ve decided to create Carrot Soup with Cheesy Bread Bunnies with my little Bunnies.

First off we prepared our ingredients for our Carrot Soup – this is a recipe we have made on numerous occasions and one of the children’s favourite – it really is simple to make and you can find that recipe here – Carrot and Coriander Soup

To accompany these we made some Cheesy Bread Bunnies, which are not only easy to make but very tasty too and are delicious hot or cold so could be great for picnics or lunchboxes.

  • 120g butter, softened
  • 450g grated Cheddar cheese
  • 250g plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and grease a baking tray ready.

In a large bowl cream together the butter and cheese, then stir in the salt and flour.  Mix well until all is combined and kneed together.

Flour the work surface well and roll the mixture out.
Cut out Bunny shapes using a cookie cutter, place on the baking tray and cook for 15 minutes.

Leave to cool a little then serve with your soup.

  1. Love your Peter Rabbit inspired cheesy bunnies! I don't think a day goes by in our house without a reference to him or his brothers and sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton Tail or were they all girls LOL!
