You know that you’ve always been told NOT to play with your food? Well now you have the perfect excuse to do just this for chance to win a fantastic prize with Pizza Express this Halloween.
Pizza Express are inviting entrants to invent a ghoulish pizza using toppings found on the their menu.
You are invited to be as adventurous in your entries as possible and just how you enter is up to you. Perhaps you would like to have a go at making a scary Witch pizza at home, or a Ghost face pizza using mozzarella, olives and peppers perhaps.
If that’s not your thing then why not draw your entry and list the ingredients you would use but remember these HAVE to be ingredients which can be found on the Pizza Express menu – you can take a look here for inspiration.
This competition is open UK residents aged 18 and over and to enter you’ll need to either Tweet your entry to @PizzaExpress or add it to the Pizza Express Facebook page – using the hashtag #Halloweenpizzas These entries can be a photograph, drawing or even a written description. This competition closes at 10am on 19th October 2016. Full details can be found here. Good luck.
Now for the exciting part – the prize:
The winner will receive a £500 Pizza Express giftcard which can be redeemed in any Pizza Express restaurant AND have their winning pizza design re-created by acclaimed food artist Prudence Staite, which will also be sampled for customers to try in a London-based Pizza Express restaurant.
Pizza Express in Loughton very kindly invited us down today so the children could have a go at making their very own scary pizzas and they had a blast.
Greeted by our favourite waiter Luis, they were given aprons and hats and turned into many chefs for the evening.
Luis showed them how to prep their pizza based ready for the sauce and taught them just how the sauce is added by the chef’s in the kitchen – not spread on with a knife as we do at home but placed onto a section and then spread around the base by tilting the pan and turning it like a steering wheel. They loved this.
Then they were given a selection of ingredients found on the menu and their imaginations took over.
Harry decided he wanted to make a scary face complete with olive eyes, chicken eye brows, ham nose and pepperoni mouth and he even finished his scary creation with cheese spots to make it really scary.
Emmy opted to make spiders webs from strips of ham and pepperoni spiders with cheese legs.
I think they did a wonderful job and to top it off they had so much fun.
If you enter this competition I would love to see your creations but be quick this competition closes at 10am on 19th October 2016.
We visit our local Pizza Express in Loughton almost monthly as it’s the children’s favourite place to eat and I have to take this opportunity to shout out just how amazingly fantastic Luis is. He has been our waiter every time for years now and he goes above and beyond for all of his customers. Never have we dined as a family anywhere else where the waiter pays SO much attention to the children, he makes them laugh from the minute we arrive until we leave. Teaching them tricks and just having fun with them.
I am a firm believer in giving praise where it is due and it is clear that Luis absolutely loves his job, he is always smiling and happy and the children get upset whenever we have to leave – not once do they need entertaining such as colouring when we dine here and they are never bored.
