Cut the cost of entertaining the kids this Summer with Meerkat Movies

With the half-term just passed and the LONG Summer holidays now approaching fast, it can become rather expensive trying to entertain the children.

There are lots of free and cheap activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, picnics and park trips however it is always nice to have a special trip out planned, and everyone loves the cinema.

Meerkat Movies are exclusively available through Comparethemarket.com and every Tuesday or Wednesday you can get 2 for 1 cinema tickets.

With this Summer’s family movies looking rather fantastic, with films including The Minions, Pixels and Shaun The Sheep I know I have two children who would be very excited to see all of these – of course saving money with the 2 for 1 offer would be rather helpful to Mum’s purse!

To take full advantage of these offers you’ll have to make sure you are signed up to Meerkat Movies and you can use these offers weekly too.

Meerkat Movies is available to all customers who use comparethemarket.com, so where you have purchased car insurance, home or travel insurance or if you’ve switched energy providers – as long as you are a customer then you are eligible to make these movie savings.

By using the 2 for 1 offer you will be making an average saving of £6.72 every time you take your plus one to the cinema – and for me that is a bag of sweets, ice cream and a drink for our snacks during the film – simples* (So sorry I couldn’t resist!)

To start making these savings you need to log into the app (you can download the app using Google Play or iTunes) using your comparethemarket.com account details and shake the phone to unlock the week’s 2 for 1 cinema  voucher code.  The app generates a new code from 00.01 every Thursday for the use the following Tuesday or Wednesday.

You can find out more about how to claim your ticket offer and start saving for your next family adventure over the summer.

The question is what would you do with the saving?  Would you use it to buy snacks or put towards another day out over the holidays?

  1. What a great idea. If we go to the cinema we don't tend to buy any snacks as it is quite pricey for the tickets so we would really be able to splurge on the popcorn and sweets with this offer!
