Extra power when you need it – Askborg chargecube review & giveaway

I am forever snapping away at the children when we are out and about, as a Mum and as a Blogger I take a vast amount of pictures to capture our adventures, after all the whole reason I started this blog was as a way to capture those memories for the children to see all the fun times and adventures they had growing up.

By the power of social media it is so easy to then upload some of those pictures instantly, check into places on Facebook, tag in companies, friends etc while out and about.

I am also able to work anywhere as my emails come straight through to my phone so I can happily head off out with the kids, go shopping or even enjoy a lunch with my husband in the knowledge that if someone needs anything urgently or a very important email come in that I can reply instantly and not miss out on work (often blogger opportunities/projects are emailed on a first come first served basis so waiting until the kids are in bed to reply is just too late).

Of course, doing all these things during the day takes its toll on my phone battery and come 2pm I often find it is running low.  Charging it in the car is easy but if I am in a field, playground or just out and about I am unable to charge it, which means limiting the amount of videos I can take or risk running out of battery completely, something I hate to do just incase there’s an emergency…..that’s now changed as I carry the Askborg Chargecube 10400mAh Powerbank External Battery Charger with me in my bag.

This portable charging unit can charge up to 2 devices at the same time including iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Nexus, HTC and More.

It isn’t the smallest or the lightest unit however it is the best one I have currently tried out, weighing in at 240g you will know it is in your handbag esp if like me you only have a small bag but you will find you won’t need to keep recharging it all the time.

I currently have a Samsung Edge 7 and have charged this from around 10% to full 4 times before having to charge the powerpack again.

The unit itself is 10.4 x 2.5 x 8 cm and has a power button on the side, two USB charging points on the bottom as well as a flashlight which comes in very useful for finding things in the bottom of your handbag or locating the keyhole at night. It has a PU leather finish and comes with a Micro USB cable.

I now keep this in the bottom of my bag and use often on our days out, and will find it very handy to use at blog conferences which of course are all starting soon, kicking off with BlogOn in May.

Priced at just £17.99 it is an affordable backup, and lets face it – what’s the point of carrying around a phone with a flat battery?

If you would like to purchase on of these then you can do so by clicking here – and if use the code ASKB15PO you’ll get a 15% discount too.
