Festive Food & Drinks

It’s almost Christmas and I honestly can’t wait now, it’s all about family time, presents, Santa and over indulging!  I say every year that I won’t eat all the chocolates, but who am I kidding?

Christmas is a time for not worrying about the diet and sharing with friends and family.

This year these are a few things you will find being indulged upon in our house – For the adults only!

Godminster Organic Brie Gift Selection

The Somerset cheesemaker based in Bruton, produces three creamy, organic bries. They are available as traditional, hand-rolled in crushed peppercorns and infused with garlic and chives.

The cheeses are produced over seven days using the traditional method.  The Godmister milk is ‘set’ using vegetarian rennet.  The soft curds are then hand-cut before going into individual moulds, which are hand-turned.  Finally the bries are moved into the drying rooms for five days to allow the flavour and creamy texture to develop.  They are then hand wrapped.

Lindemans Bin 45 Cabernet Sauvignon

A medium to full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that combines dark berry fruit with hints of chocolate and mint.  Drink with Christmas dinner or with cheese and biscuits later on in the evening.

Fletcher’s Ruby Port

A classic cheese board is one of the great pleasures of the Christmas season, and this delicious ruby port is the ideal accompaniment. Soft, smooth and fruity, it has a velvety sweetness that brings a round softness to creamy and crumbly Christmas cheeses, such as Wensleydale with cranberries.
