I’m sure I’ve told you before that Emmy is a water baby. She loves a bath – well when I finally get her in that is! Never keen to initially get in however once in it’s impossible to get her out again. We often joke around and tell her if she doesn’t get out she will turn into a Mermaid.
Very aptly she has been sent a new Bath Toy from Fisher-Price for review. Emmy loves Dora and was extremely excited when she opened up her parcel.
Emmy was sent the Fisher-Price Swimming Mermaid Dora to play with in her bath, and she could not get up the stairs fast enough, infact I thought she was going to get in with her clothes on.
Dora is now a mermaid who actually swims in the bath. She comes with a comb so you can play hairdressers in the bath and has colour changing hair. There is a Purple streak in her hair and her fringe, when this comes into contact with warm water it changes to Pink. Icy cold water will then change it back to Purple.
To make Dora swim you need to turn her sea shell necklace clockwise and lay her down in the bath. She isn’t a very great swimmer and she doesn’t move across the bath as the motion isn’t powerful enough, however she does make the water around her move and her tail moves up and down. The swimming motion is more of a treading water motion than a swim action if I’m honest, however this doesn’t bother Emmy at all, she still likes winding her up and changing the colour of her hair.
We have been playing hair dressers with Dora and it is a way of encouraging Emmy to wash her hair. She washes Dora’s hair while I wash her hair.
Swimming Mermaid Dora is priced at £21.99 and is suitable for children aged 3+
