I am taking part in a Beatrix Potter blog tour, thank you to Jenny from The Gingerbread House
for passing over the tour to us, once you’ve read our post you can pop over to visit Rachel – U Me and the Kids to read her post tomorrow.
This year marks 150 years of Beatrix Potter, most famous for her adorable stories of a little Rabbit called Peter. I grew up listening to these stories, my Mum would read them to my Brother and I and once I was able to read I could read them myself and of course as soon as I had my own children these were some of the first story books I purchased to place on the Nursery shelves even before Emmy was born.
Even now at the ages of 6 & 3, Emmy and Harry love these stories of the loveable Rabbit who always gets into trouble. We do love snuggling down together and watching the TV show and seeing the misadventures unfold – Peter reminds me so much of Harry – he tries hard to be good but just finds it rather impossible.
Beatrix Potter went on to write 23 volumes of stories and rhymes known as the original Peter Rabbit books and is certainly a name all will remember fondly. Over 2 million Beatrix Potter books are sold every year worldwide – that’s one every 15 seconds!
There are some lovely Peter Rabbit merchandise currently available to help celebrate this amazing 150 years which I’d love to show you incase you haven’t seen them already:
Peter Rabbit Bodysuit £8 – A lovely soft cotton vest with short sleeves and an adorable winged collar features an embroidered Peter Rabbit on the front, with poppers on the shoulder and gusset for easy changes. In a lovely white colour this is a very unisex outfit.
