Giveaway: Win £150 custom wallpaper printing from Colour Graphics

Over the past year various parts of our house have finally been given a special touch, a lick of paint or a revamp – decorating with kids around is almost impossible at times as they want to help, which roughly translates to they want to get in the way and make a mess.

We have mainly just sorted the children’s rooms, the hall and the kitchen because we’ve decided not to redecorate the front room until they are older. They’ve scratched up the flooring, drawn on the walls and they jump over the sofa’s – to replace and decorate these just now would only result in lots of raised voices, cross parents and it really isn’t worth the stress just now.

Emmy’s bedroom is perhaps my favourite room in our house at the moment, done up in  pink and purple with a double bed, a rather large TV and all that is currently missing is a desk which I will add in a few weeks time – we just need to find the right one as it will need to be attached to the wall with a drop down front due to her bed taking up most of the floor space now. It is a place she really enjoys spending time – well except when it comes to bed time that is (she hates to sleep).

Harry also loves his bedroom and we spend a lot of time playing with his pirate ships and his castle in there, he thankfully loves to sleep and he is now over the moon that he has a TV of his own to watch.

This is one of my favourite pieces of furniture in his bedroom, a bedside unit which I upcycled from a plain white unit to match perfectly with his pirate themed room. You can see how to make this in the tutorial here.

With both of the children’s rooms finished, this year I plan to decorate our bedroom, a room which hasn’t been decorated in the 13 years we have lived in this house. The main reason for not having this already done is that we need a new carpet, the old red one really isn’t to our take but the hassle of replacing carpets, moving out the furnishing has always put me off – the time has now come as out bed has broken so needs replacing, this means it’s the perfect time to get the changes make – if we are moving out the bed it seems the easiest time to remove the carpet and replace.

Then we will paint and add a feature wall behind our bed – there isn’t too much that needs changing other than that really, new curtains and light shade perhaps.  We have fitted wardrobes so there isn’t much room for anything else but I would like to finally make it a room where I like spending time, a room I can relax in.

With these decorating plans in place, I have teamed up with Colour Graphics to bring you our latest giveaway – you can win £150 to spend on your very own custom wallpaper printing.

Have you ever taken a photo and thought – WOW that would look stunning blown up and placed on the wall as a feature? Perhaps you’ve captured the perfect sunset, a rolling countryside view, a snap of your favourite beach….the choice is yours.

What picture would you like turned into wallpaper?

  1. I want to decorate my bedroom next, though the kitchen and livingroom are also on my to do list at some point x

  2. The next room I’d like to decorate is my son’s bedroom. The previous owner painted it yellow, orange and lilac, including the ceiling which is orange! It’s truly hideous and we plan to paint it a mixture of white and grey which will be much more restful. Some wallpaper on a feature wall behind the bed would be just perfect.

  3. The lounge. My bedroom is so small that I don’t spend any time in there apart from when I’m sleeping so I’m always in the lounge of an evening and would love it to feel more cosy

  4. I’m planning to redecorate a single spare bedroom, currently used as a bit of a dumping ground, needs some injection of personality added to it to deter any more dumping and more inviting.

  5. My hall as it the walls are covered in different colours from sample paint pots that I brought ages ago and I still have not made up my mind what colour to paint it x

  6. every room in our house needs decorating, but if I have to pick just one I’d love to give my little girls room a makeover.

  7. I’m doing a full house renovation so honestly any room haha I would like to get the living room sorted first and I have a great idea for a feature wall!

  8. I think I’d take a leaf out of your book and tackle my little fella’s bedroom. The decor resembles a nursery but the contents doesn’t 😉

  9. My daughter’s bedroom is next in line – it’s a bit difficult, as she’s 9 and thinks she’ll love Frozen forever but…

  10. The lounge, I would like white walls with one wall wallpapered. I would like white feathers on a silver background. The flooring would be wood effect with a grey tone and a large grey/silver rug.

  11. I would have a star wars related picture on a wall paper for Finns new room he probably would love one with a X-Wing on it!
