As you would have read in a previous post about Soap
, Emmy has very sensitive skin. It wasn’t always like this however I remember clearly the day things got really bad – we undressed her for her evening bath and she was covered in a red rash – being a fully trained Nanny I ran to get a glass and placed it on her skin – thankfully the rash disappeared so we just kept a close eye on it. Well it got worse over the next few days to the point it had spread and was very angry looking, typically this was over a bank holiday weekend so a trip to the emergency doctors was needed.
They put it down to an extreme allergic reaction but to what they were unsure, as with most childhood things it came and went over a few weeks until I bit the bullet and threw away all the bath products which I had been using with Emmy on advise from a friend who gave me a long list of things which should be avoided with children with sensitive skin.
Now have you ever read the back of a shampoo bottle? or bubble bath? I hadn’t but was very surprised, there is a huge long list of ingredients, nearly all were on my should be avoided list.
Thats when I discovered Halos N Horns
for Kids and was sent the Zingy Orange Hair and Body Wash
& Berry Burst Shampoo and Detangler
to try out with Emmy.
I read the back of the bottles first before even thinking about putting anywhere near Emmy and was really surprised – they contain none of the unnecessary ingredients which are contained in most Children’s products. All Halos N Horns product contain NO: Sodium Laureth (SLS), Lauryl Sulphate (SLES), Parabens, Phthalates, Methylisothiazoline (MIT), Tricolsan or Propylene Glycol.
Having worked out that no bad ingredients could be found in these products I tried them with Emmy and not only did she love the smell, she did not react to these products at all, infact I can now bathe her everyday again without worrying about a skin reaction.
The Zingy Orange Hair and Body has a lovely zesty fragrance inspired by freshly squashed fruity oranges which leaves Emmys skin lovely and clean even after jumping in muddy puddles and making mud pies.
The Berry Burst is my personal favourite and Emmy’s too as it is a lovely pink colour smelling beautifully of Berries and leaves Emmy’s hair lovely and soft and extremely easy to brush.
Bathtime has become fun again and Emmy usually doesn’t want to get out.
