Harry loves In The Night Garden, he has replaced his sister’s once love for the show and can not get enough. If he hears the music to In the Night Garden he can’t help but dance, smile and clap.
He was very excited to be sent the In The Night Garden 1st Floor puzzle by Ravensburger recently and hugged the box and repeatedly kept saying ‘Peaaas’ until I opened it to show him what it was.
Now normally when Emmy has a puzzle out Harry can’t wait to break it, throw the pieces around or worse still – run away with them.
This time was different. He sat down while I turned the pieces over and kept trying to name them.
‘Pigwall’ is his name for Iggle Piggle
‘Dassy’ is Upsy Daisy
‘Mac’ Is Macca Packa
‘Boo Boos’ are the Tombliboos
This 1st floor puzzle by Ravensburger has 16 pieces and is aimed at children aged 2 years plus. Now Harry is only 18 months however he loved this.
He sat still for the whole time, passing me pieces and trying to fit them together. Now of course he couldn’t do this unaided however if I put two pieces next to each other with a visible character on them he was able to piece them together and them clap himself.
This puzzle is priced at £8.99. With 16 pieces made from super thick double laminated card it is perfect for little ones. Harry loves this and keeps asking to do it over and over again – a bonus is that he sits still for a whole 5 minutes – unheard of from my little man!
He kept pointing out the characters which are bright and vibrant and trying to name them, helping with language skills, recognition as well as motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
