When my kids were young, as in weaning and toddler age, I prided myself on the fact they were the least fussy kids in the world. Both would eat whatever I placed in front of them, eating everything without a care in the world.
Messy eaters but the majority being eaten with the rest smeared around their faces, clothes, hair and any surface close by, and on occasions it was found at the far side of the room.
Meat, fish, fruit and vegetables they loved it all.
Fast forward a few years and they became fussier and fussier. Sushi and prawns still remain Harry’s all time favourite foods as well as hot chilli and curry too but given the choice they always ask for plain pasta with a tiny bit of grated cheese on top, a jacket potato with cheese and beans or a cheese pizza – do you see the common theme here? It does become rather boring.
They like the simple things in life, and while they will eat a variety of varied meals and adore a plate of vegetables when we go to the carvery they don’t like to try anything new anymore.
As a busy working mum, I can’t pander to their every whim at meal times so I do tend to stick to the same things as I know they will eat them but I’m also very conscious that they aren’t always getting their 5 fruit and veg a day. I do try but it’s not always easy. To make me feel better about this they do take vitamins in the mornings with their cereals and fresh juice.
Of course no alternative for their fruits and vegetables but an added bonus to help along the way and it makes me feel better knowing they are getting the added vitamins they are missing from their foods, especially now they are heading back to school where they will have full days of learning ahead and Harry especially will find this hard this year moving from reception where it is mainly play based to year 1 where there will be actual lessons, less play time and homework to do on top. They need to be on tip top for which is why I have introduced the new Bassetts Vitamins Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles to his diet in preparation for his longer and harder days.
The new Bassetts Vitamins Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles come in an Orange flavour, made from natural flavours and colours with no added sugar. They contain vitamin B6 to support psychological function and Vitamin B5 which contributes to mental performance to help support a smart way to start the day. Of course they also contain all the other multivitamins the other Bassetts kids vitamins do but now with added Omega-3. These are aimed at children aged 3-6 years of age and have a RRP of £5.50 for a pack of 30.
With Harry being a fussier eater I wasn’t sure how he would find the taste but I shouldn’t have worried, he really liked them – a little too much and wanted more but I have stood firm and he knows he’s only allowed one a day, and boy he doesn’t forget – he grabs the packet while I prepare his breakfast in the mornings.
I asked him to draw what he thought they tasted like and this is his drawing.
A sun and an orange – he says they are just like the inside of an orange and look like the sun. Very sweet and I am rather impressed with his drawing, and writing too (he will be 6 in October – I told him how to spell orange and he wrote it).
Omega-3 + Multivitamins Orange Flavour Pastilles are the ideal companion for supporting even the fussiest of little eaters*, so it’s no real surprise that us parents love them…because our kids do!
