Emmy loves puzzles and will spend ages making them, breaking them and then starting over again but for a parent they can be rather boring can’t they? Once they have been completed the interest soon fades in them and they can be put away again for weeks at a time without a single thought being given to them.
We were sent a puzzle aimed at pre-schoolers (aged 3-6 years old) to review recently. This is from a company called Music for Kids and is more than just your standard puzzle.
Included inside our ‘Old McDonald had a Farm’ puzzle were:
- A large floor puzzle
- A music CD ‘Old McDonald had a Farm’ and 11 other animal songs plus a bonus audio story ‘The Three Little Pigs’
- 24 reusable activity stickers
- A colouring and activity sheet and sing along song-sheet
Emmy first tackled the puzzle, while only 2 rows high it was hard enough for her to spend a while doing while not being so difficult that she threw the pieces to the ground giving up (yes she is 2 and it happens often)
she enjoyed the puzzle and happily broke it up and started again once the CD went on as she wanted to find all the animals which Old McDonald had on his Farm. She also enjoyed dancing around to the songs which she knew and singing along. Everything Emmy says and does at the moment is done through song and dance so she really enjoyed this.
Then the stickers and colouring in were and added bonus keeping her amused while dinner was being cooked. This set is great value for £9.99 and can be used over and over again, infact the CD has now made its way into the car (I’m not sure if that is a good or a bad thing yet though…..ask me in a few weeks).
