Making a foam umbrella

Keeping the kids busy and entertained can be a difficult at times. But why not keep them occupied by making a fun foam umbrella and let their creativity shine. Below is a tutorial provided by cutfoam who offer foam cut to any size.

You will need:

Scissors

Glue

Two sheets of foam in different colours

A pipe cleaner

Step 1

Using a cd or anything round, trace out a circle onto the foam using a pen or pencil. Cut out a circle.

Cut out a segment to fold over to make your umbrella
shape.

Glue the fold into place and leave a small gap at the
point for the handle.

Cut out some strips of foam to decorate the top of the
umbrella and glue them on.

Using a pipe-cleaner for the handle, push one end
through the tip and fold over, then fold the longer end at the bottom in half,
twisting to secure it into a strong handle.

Turn the end of the pipe cleaner into a handle. Use as a
decoration or as an umbrella for a favourite doll.
