We are now well into the second week of December – how on earth did that happen? and there are very few shopping days left to get the final gifts – I know some of you haven’t started yet so I’m not panicking you – there is still time even for online ordering, I just like to have it all tied up and hopefully wrapped before the kids finish for the holidays as let’s face it, getting anything organised with them around is rather impossible and they can not keep a secret.
I am well on the way to being finished now.
We’ve made our Christmas cards, this year the children have made handprint Reindeer cards – These look really cute and are very easy to make (just click the link of our tutorial).
The kids have written cards for their School friends and I’ve made a start on mine. We are working on the gifts for the teachers, I’ve bought the ingredients to make our chocolate orange fudge again and I just need to source the containers as I really loved how last years turned out.
Most of the Christmas presents has been purchased now, although none have been wrapped, the tree is now up and decorated and today we went to see Emmy in her School Nativity where she was a star – and what a fabulous and beautiful star she was too.
Both Children now have a full schedule of school and home events (the home ones are still being kept secret from them). Harry has a Christmas play day and lunch tomorrow at our local soft play centre, Emmy has her carol service at church on Friday.
On Saturday we are off to have breakfast with Santa at Wyevale Garden Centre in Enfield, On Monday Emmy has her Christmas dinner at school and her Christmas party on that Thursday and both children break up on the 18th with Harry having a Christmas party and Emmy having a Christmas jumper day.
On the 19th Emmy is off to see a Panto with her best friends for one of their birthdays, on the 21st it’s my birthday and on the 22nd we are off to the opening show of Disney on Ice at the O2.
It’s certainly a busy time for us all and it really is full steam ahead from now on. If you are still making a list for it to be checked twice then it may be a good idea to check out the countdown to Christmas Guide over on the TSB website – you will find a barcode scanning app which is rather handy for finding the best deal for that toy/gadget which is most likely on a Christmas of one of your family members.
I have just reminded myself that the children still need write their letters to Santa which we really should do before meeting him on Saturday.
How are your Christmas plans coming along?
