Post School tiredness – Our Netflix favourites this month #StreamTeam

We are now a few weeks into the new School year and after almost 7 weeks off the children are rather tired after long days.  Harry especially as he has now stopped napping during the day and now attends for 2 full days, something he hasn’t done before.

Both children ride or scoot to school and home again so you can well imagine just how tired they are after this, add in swimming lessons for both and after school they aren’t capable of too much activity currently.

We’ve taken to having an early dinner together, having a wash or a bath and getting into our pj’s and then watching TV to relax.  Harry is generally asleep by 6.30pm and Emmy around 7.30/8pm without a fuss, which just proves how tired they are at the end of the day.

The children have their favourites and ask for these when we get in.

Harry is loving BusyTown Mysteries.  This is a cute show in which you will find Huckle Cat, his sister Sally and their friends investigate the mysteries which occur daily in Busytown.  Each episode sees them solving these mysteries as well as learning life lessons along the way.

There are currently 2 seasons on Netflix with 26 episodes in each season.  This means with a large library of episodes Harry can watch a couple a day and it takes a while before they are repeated again.

These are aimed at younger viewers and be warned you will have the theme tune in your head for a while after watching.  Emmy happily watches this too although it is rather young for her.

Dinotrux: Half Dinosaur, half construction truck, of course Harry would love this one.  Here you will find giant Ty Rux, his little buddy Revvit and the crew come face-to-face with evil D-Structs.

There are currently 10 episodes available to watch.

Emmy has a brand new favourite which has taken over after I banned Horrid Henry recently, she is loving Bernard,  Bernard is a furless polarbear who leaves his homeland to travel the world, play sports and have commercial adventures.

This is rather slapstick and has the children roaring with laughter with each episode.  He always has misadventures, gets hurt and does very silly things which appeals to the kids sense of humour.

The episodes are very short, around 12 minutes long – they always want to watch more as they find it hilarious.  Each watching and great fun.

I have found a new sense of freedom on the days Harry now attends school all day – these days are meant for me to catch up on work, however as I finally have a little me time, I have been allowing myself a leisurely breakfast and a show of my own with my feet up, a bacon sandwich and a hot coffee.

I finally finished watching Orange is the New Black and really enjoyed that, I was late into the game to begin watching these and with 3 seasons it took me a while to catch up.

I then moved on to and have been enjoying The Returned – This show sees several people from the same town return several years after they have died.  They died in different ways and often year apart however isolated to this town a few have started to return.

Each episode concentrates on a different character and follows events leading to their death, or events after they have returned.  I have 2 episodes left to watch and then need to decide on what to watch next.

Any recommendations on something I can watch for my half hour me time?
