Paint your own bird house – Review

As the weather has finally improved and as we are spending a lot of time outside with our grow your own project, we have been thinking of ways to entertain Emmy and to brighten up the garden.

She was recently sent a paint your own bird house kit from Hobby Craft which kept her entertained for an hour and has brightened up our shed as well as helping to encourage wild life into the garden.

It comes in kit form with 2 large panels, 3 smaller panels for the sides and bottom and 6 rectangular panels to make the roof.  The screws and paint and paint brush are also included – all you need to complete the kit is a screwdriver and a nail/screw or hook to hang it up after it is finished.

Melissa & Doug Bird House, Hobby Craft,

The front panel has a leaf design already on it and Emmy tried really hard to follow this pattern and to keep within the lines.

She free styled the sides and roof and I painted her name on the back along with the date so she can look back upon her work in years to come.

She really enjoyed making this project and it looks great in the garden.

Priced at only £10.00 this Melissa & Doug Bird house is a perfect craft for kids to do and keep them amused during the summer holidays.

You can find this and other activities for kids on the Hobby Craft website.
