Harry’s birthday is fast approaching and we are setting plans in place, it’s hard to believe that my little baby boy, my blog baby will be 5 years old in October. My pregnancy with him was announced first on this blog and his birth announcement also live here while I was still in recovery breast feeding him – the wonders of a planned C-Section with only a time, weight and birth photo to add into a pre-written post!
This year we have decided to throw a party for him, something we’ve not yet done before – that’s excluding his 1st birthday party which was a joint one for his christening.
Now he is in Nursery, and by the time of his party in Reception, he has his own circle of friends – not just the siblings of his sisters friends so to mark the occasion he is really keen to have his own party.
While he is very keen on a Pirate party currently, this isn’t yet set in stone and together we’ve been browsing the new Disney Party service, launched by Disneystore this is a one-stop destination for children’s party planning, a place for parents to purchase all you need to have an awesome themed party.
With lots of ideas, planning tools and party supplies available so parents don’t need to visit many different sites or stores to get all they need, items include:
- Free customisable Disney invites which can be emailed directly to your guests
- A Free personalised party dashboard to help manage invites and plan the day
- A Free character call from Mickey or Minnie Mouse on the big day
- To lot of party games ideas, supplies for the party table, gift bags and even recipes plus lots more.
With themes to suit all available from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars fans – now it’s just the hard part of deciding upon a theme – and getting Harry to stick to it!
Of course there is a lot more to party planning than just choosing the theme, I am currently checking dates with a venue and looking at party entertainers too, then there is always the job I hate the most – the food, I like eating it but the food prep for a kids party for me is never the fun part, although last year I did make the executive decision to have the cake made for me instead of staying up until midnight the night before making my own…..which I vow every year never to do again, and fail.
I do however really enjoy the pulling it all together, even at times if it is stressful. I love making up the party bags for the children, decorating the hall or room to make it look special and choosing the invitations (although writing them is a pain as is handing them all out in the playground).
I’m a sucker for that personalised touch so have been busy browsing Paperless Post for birthday invitations, these are my current favourites:
These invitations can be sent via email or paper copies can be sent to yourself or the guests directly, you also have RSVP cards sent with these making replying easier and it helps parents to keep track of who is coming or not coming.
I’ve teamed up with Paperless Post to giveaway 600 coins to purchase invitations or cards of your choice – with a huge selection available from kids party invitations, adult party invitations, Wedding invitations, Birthday cards and even Thank You cards there is something for everyone.
