Recycle, help the environment plus a chance to win £800 holiday vouchers!

**Posted in collaboration with Friends of Glass**

We are all beginning to become more conscious of the packaging our goods come in and making more of an effort to recycle in our own homes, the majority of my rubbish being put out for the binmen is now recycling with around 75-80% of our rubbish going into clear recycling bags instead of the black bin.

We recycle glass bottles, cardboard, plastic bottles and even tin cans, paper, newspapers etc. The pile of clear bags which go out at our house is more like a mound and passers-by have often commented, of course, it does have something to do with the sheer amount of parcels being delivered here but I am very careful to sort the rubbish correctly.

A few years ago I attended a cookery class with Friends Of Glass and I have kept up-to-date with their campaigns ever since.

This latest one not only helps you to do your part in recycling but by joining in you could win a share of £800 worth of holiday vouchers – I bet that has your attention – if so read on.

The future of the ocean is under threat, the amount of plastics and non-biodegradable products ending up in the ocean is at an all-time high and it’s time we started to make an effort to stop this happening.

This competition is part of the Friends of Glass Endless Ocean campaign which is highlighting how we can all protect the ocean by choosing glass packaging for our food, drinks and toiletries.

Entry is really easy and you just need to upload a photo to social media. For your chance to enter to win a share of £800 worth of holiday vouchers what you need to do is:

You can be as creative as you want so why not get the arts and crafts equipment out while the kids are off school and get creative – can you make an octopus using paper mache? maybe paint your face as a shark, use a paper plate to create an ocean scene but if you aren’t that creative don’t worry all is not lost – just head over to website where you can print off mask templates, either use the pre-coloured one or colour those in for yourselves – you’ll also find sea themed props which you can print off and use too.

Emmy and Harry had great fun colouring in these print outs, once finished I cut them out and added straws for them to hold and hey presto. If you are looking for more inspiration then how cool are these ideas from Hobbycraft?
