Review: Thomas & Friends Rattling Railsss

Would you believe that Thomas the Tank Engine is about to celebrate his 70th Birthday?  I have grown up with Thomas as have my children.
The love of Thomas is very much alive in our house and Emmy and Harry both love to play with our train sets, Thomas the Tank Engine toys and will both happily watch the TV programme too.  I would love to take them to Thomas Land one day but it’s a little too far away from us sadly.

They have seen Thomas the Tank Engine on stage at Butlin’s and were able to climb aboard at LolliBops last year, Harry even has a Thomas the Tank Engine bed.

With the Birthday excitement upon us Harry and I are heading London bound tomorrow for a very special 70th Birthday celebration for this much loved Engine.

Recently Harry was sent a lovely Thomas & Friends Playset to play with and he loves it although has been getting a little frustrated with it.
This is the Thomas & Friends Rattling Railsss take along play set, this set can be folded down and taken along to grandparents houses, on holiday etc.  I do have to admit that it doesn’t fold down much so we personally wouldn’t take it out of the house – the grey circle track which you see in the picture folds upwards.
Setting this toy up is very easy and only requires clicking a few parts into place – the tunnels come unattached as does the track and snakes jaw.  It can be easily assembled in less that 5 minutes which with overly keen children around this is a blessing.

This set comes with a die-cast Thomas the Tank Engine and can be lined up with other take along play sets.

By putting Thomas into the Snakes mouth and pressing down the lever it swings the Snakes mouth around to meet the tunnel, the swinging motion and jolting stopping motion release Thomas through the tunnel and down the slope back into the snakes jaws.

This is slightly tricky for harry to do as you need to press the lever hard enough, however pressing too hard will cause Thomas to fall out and off the tracks.

Emmy can play with this set without any issues and does try to help Harry with it, encouraging him to press the green lever on the top down.  He is in fits of giggles when playing with this and really likes it.

Aimed at children aged 3+ this is a lovely set for all Thomas fans and we really like that it can fit together with other play sets in this range.

Priced at £19.99 and available from many good toy stores. Widgets
