Before Harry was born I was searching for something to keep him warm when in the carseat and something which would match the colour of his buggy – green, when a company called Ruby and Ginger got in touch asking if I would like to try out their car seat cosy.
What is the car seat cosy?
It is like a glove for your baby’s car seat. It helps to keep them warm and away from the wind as well as other elements of weather – but lets face it, rain and wind is what we will be dealing with at this time of year!
It has an elasticated fitting which means it is so easy to slip the cosy over our Cosatto car seat and just as easy to take off again without waking a sleeping baby. Harry obviously likes it as he happily sleeps when it is on. It is also a nice way of blocking out distractions when he is over tired and needs a nap (I’ve a nosy baby).
The cosy doesn’t interfere with the fixings for our travel system so can be put on before or after the car seat goes onto the chassis. He is nice and snug while inside as it has a tog rating of 3+.
There is a triangle shaped opening so you can see baby which can be buttoned up in and open position when wanted or unbuttoned and pulled down when very windy to protect baby’s face from the elements.
We were sent the ‘Wallpaper’ colour cosy which is green, blue and brown and while not an exact colour match to our carseat/buggy it looks great as the Cosatto Treet is Green and brown.
Priced at £25 the car seat cosy is an lovely affordable weatherproofing alternative to blankets which do not protect your baby’s face from the outdoors elements, and comes in 3 colour options Wallpaper, Berries and Funky Flower. It is also machine washable and comes in a handy storage bag for when not in use.
