I always start out with good intentions of cooking fresh each week for the children, Paul and I. I buy the ingredients and even meal plan however as always happens – life gets in the way and it’s not always possible.
This doesn’t mean I have to reach for the takeaways though or even the ready meals per-say.
We do have them as treats but I much prefer a home cooked meal so the next best thing to preparing my own potatoes and vegetables to go with our meals is having them already prepared and just popping them in the oven.
We have been trying out some this week from Mash Direct and they are very tasty.
We were sent some Potato Croquettes, Broccoli cheese and mashed potato to try out.
The kids enjoyed them as did Paul and I. The best thing is the lack of preparation involved.
They are not a lazy option at all, they are option for busy families – removing the need to prepare the vegetables, cook them, stir them and keep an eye on them so they don’t over boil etc. You can pop into the over and snuggle on the sofa and work your way through the school reading books or play games with the kids, or even hoover.
Set the timer on the oven and the hassle is taken away.
Not lazy at all just convenient while still ensuring you are getting your vegetable intake with your meals. They are gluten-free and free from artificial flavourings, preservatives and colourings
The potato croquettes weren’t as crispy as I usually like, they were cooked to the correct times and began sticking to the baking tray, they tasted lovely though. Paul of course couldn’t be convinced to try the broccoli but that really isn’t anything new.
The kids love mash potato and wolfed this down and happily ate the cheesy broccoli which I didn’t think they would do.
Mash Direct have a huge range of products available from Dauphinoise Potato with Red Onion, all kinds of vegetable side dishes and even vegetable burgers.
