So Glow DIY Magic Jar Studio

Emmy is still at that wonderful age where she loves nothing more than making, creating and crafts.

I used to have so much time for this and it really was one of my favourite things to do, sadly now I rarely find the time to sit down and get too creative with her and the things she wants to make are so far away from my skill set that I have no idea where to start sometimes – thanks YouTube!

Recently she was sent something that was just up her street to try out – the So Glow DIY Magic Jar Studio from Canal Toys.

This is a relatively mess free crafting kit with all the contents you need to make 3 of your own light up magic jars – think of those timeout jars you’ve all seen being made on Facebook, filled with glitter and water which you turn upside down. These are similar to those only they light up and the kit contains everything you need inside.

Inside the kit, you will find:

  • So Glow Studio
  • Large Magic Jar with Colour Changing LED
  • 2 Mini Magic Jars with Colour Changing LED
  • 3 Bags of Magic So Glow Powder
  • 3 Bags of Glitter
  • 4 Bags of Confetti
  • 3 Glitter Tubes
  • 5 Collectable Figures
  • 3 Sticker Sheets
  • Instruction Sheet

In just three simple steps your Magic Jar will glitter and glow and you will have created a wonderfully decorative magic jar for your room, which can double as a night light too.

First fill your Magic Jar with water, stopping at the fill line shown on the jar then place the jar on the holder on the studio.

Next, you add a sprinkle of glitter, a dusting of confetti, the Magic So Glow powder, a cute surprise and just mix. You can add the glitter into the mini bottles provided within the kit as well as the confetti but honestly, we found this to be so messy as most of it just poured over the worktop missing the tiny bottles completely so I would advise just pouring into the jar from the packet.

Once finished screw the lid on tightly, you won’t want water spilling over your bedroom floor should they be knocked over, then use the fabulous stickers to add your own decorations and theme to the outside of your Magic Jar.

Once you’ve finished decorating your Magic Jar shake and watch it shimmer, sparkle and light up through a whole spectrum of different colours.

Emmy loved making these and has them displayed in her bedroom. She likes that they glow up and says she would like to use them in the tent when we go camping next which is a rather sweet idea.

They are very quick and easy to make, and mostly mess free if you don’t bother pouring the accessories into the bottles.

The handle for mixing turns well and providing you’ve not overfilled you’ll not get splashed with it or spill it – just make sure the jar is sitting in the holder correctly.

She wasn’t keen to add the collectable toys into her jars but that is a personal choice.

This would make a lovely Christmas gift and will keep your child amused for around 15-20 minutes making time but the jars can be used and played with long after you have finished your project.

The So Glow DIY Magic Jar Studio is available from all good retailers including Amazon but also many others too.
