Tips on where to take the little ones for your summer holidays in 2018

Summer holiday locations for kids

Summer is fast approaching however you aren’t too late to book that perfect family holiday, if you are still stuck for ideas on where to take your little ones to the beach this year then can help advise you on the best European destinations that are suitable for all budgets and which are family friendly too!

I’ve asked them for help in choosing where we will go as a family (I’m actually planning for next Summer as Paul and I will both be 40 and we want a family holiday as a treat to ourselves) – here are their suggestions:

Majorca – Spain

Sant Teodor – Italy

Majorca Island is confirmed, in its entirety, as one of the most family-friendly Spanish islands, with more than 320 child-friendly beaches. Bays of all shades of blue that protect the beaches from the hot winds coming from the south, with shallow and inert waters, which will leave the whole family breathless. On clear days, it is even possible to see from the beaches in the north-east of the island the coasts of Menorca Island. Renting an apartment in Majorca will be the choice that you will not regret taking!

Sant Teodor – Italy

Immense white beaches washed by a crystalline and shallow sea, perfect for our children. You will have the feeling of being in a Caribbean beach instead you will be  couple of hours flight from England, in San Teodoro, Sardinia. Children can play safely, while adults can relax enjoying the red summer sunsets. San Teodoro, however, is much more than paradise beaches. For those who do not want to give up the culture, it’s possible to visit the Arzachena Archaeological Park, which includes important nuragi complexes, giants’ tombs, necropolis and museums. It will be a holiday that you will want to repeat!

Brač Island – Croatia

This one is actually top of my current wish list for our 40th birthday holiday

The beaches of the island of Brač, in the heart of the Mediterranean, really offer a wonderful natural spectacle. Huge tongues of sand enveloped by lush vegetation, will allow you to give your children a unique contact with nature. In many of the enchanting beaches of the island it is in fact possible to participate in group excursions, both by sea and by land, for a journey to discover the most hidden and remote corners of this Croatian island. It‘s possible to practice many water sports that will keep even the biggest ones busy. In addition, most of the accommodation facilities provide all the necessary services to enjoy a perfect family holiday, with spaces for changing diapers or nursing the little ones. You will certainly have fun!

Lefkada Island – Greece

The beaches of the island of Lefkada, a small island located off the western Greek coast, are an ideal place to spend summer holidays with the little ones. Hotels, holiday homes and camping sites fully equipped for all the needs of families. The sandy beaches, perfect for building sand castles, are lost in the transparent and shallow waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Moreover, in order not to fall into monotony, you can change every day, for the all duration of your holiday, the beach where you can have fun with your little ones. Regardless of where you are staying, in less than a quarter of an hour you can reach the farthest beach. In addition, it’s possible to take the whole family to take a boat trip to the various sea caves and inlets typical of the island’s coasts.

Marmaris – Turkey

This heavenly beach of the Turkish coast is perfect for your summer holidays 2018. Marmaris is the ideal destination for those who want to enjoy long days on the beach with their children without giving up any comfort. Beach of fine golden sand on which you can admire the castles built by children or on which to play football or beachvolley. Also, during the summer months, there are many activities planned, such as excursions of groups organized inland or in rubber boats, to discover the numerous beaches with clear waters. In addition, holiday homes, hotels, ice cream parlors and places to eat and buy fresh drinks are just a step away from the beaches. Furthermore, the city offers numerous alternatives, such as the possibility of visiting the castle of Marmaris which dominates the whole city.
