My Top 5 Wedding venues in Essex

Wedding venues essex

With my 10th Wedding Anniversary fast approaching (next March) and with wedding season in full swing – everyone loves a summer wedding after all it, has made me reminisce and remember all the things which I needed to check off my list before choosing a venue which suited us and our huge guest list.  Living in Essex I started off my search with wedding venues in Essex and although I knew which Church I wanted to get married in I did also look at other venues where you can marry on-site and therefore have the reception in the same place.

Having looked at a few venues and worked out how many guests we had and cursing having big families we quickly ruled out this option.  We had 280 guests for the wedding and a sit down buffet, with around 360 guests by the evening reception.

Just Married – Waltham Abbey Church

We actually got married in Waltham Abbey Church, which is our local Church.  It’s a beautiful Church and is huge which we needed for all our guests – we even managed to fill all the seats for our big day.

After we all headed back to a local sports centre which had a private bar/function area and although it wasn’t a fancy venue, once decorated in all its finery with balloons, tables and the little finishing touches which always take the longest to sort such as the table decorations and wedding favors etc. – for us it was just perfect.
