Visionary Soap review and competition

I recently won a competition on Twitter to win a lip balm from the Visionary Soap Company. I liked it so much that I contacted the company and they kindly agreed to send me 2 soaps from their range to try out, along with a lovely competition prize to give away!

What is different about this company?
Visionary Soap is the UK’s leading fair trade body care company whose whole range carries the Fairtrade Mark.  Their products consist of an organic body care range handcrafted in the UK and abroad using ingredients from producers in Palestine, India, Ghana, Nicaragua, The Dominician Republic, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and South Africa.

As well as containing well above the maximum amount of Fairtrade ingredients in their products, they also ensure none of their products contain palm oil, synthetic dyes or fragrances, parabens, petroleum-based ingredients, alchol, sodium laureth sulfate or animal products.  If that wasn’t enough they are also GMO and gluten free!

Ater reading that long list you are probably wondering what is left to make their products with, I also wondered the same.  They are simply made with the finest vegetable oils, butters, essential oils and botanicals!  Now if that wasn’t enough they also take their packaging seriously too and strive for it to be as eco-friendly as possible, whether that be recyclable, compostable, reusable and plastic-free.

I was sent a Geranium rose soap and a Lavender soap.  I was very impressed with the lovely packaging and the wonderful fragrances when I unwrapped them.  The geranium is my favourite one, it contains geranium essential oil and pink rose petals so as well as smelling great it looks good too and I have found the rose petals to have a nice massaging effect.

I have used these soaps in the bath with Emmy too and I am incredibly impressed. Emmy has sensitive skin and we have been to the hospital and emergency doctors with her on numerous occassions due to a allergic reactions caused by soaps and shampoos – even the children’s brands so we have been limited to the products we can use in her baths.  It is nice to be able to find a product we can share with Emmy now without worrying.

These soaps are very reasonably priced too at £3.25, I will definately be getting some more once these are gone.

Now competition time!!  The lovely people at visionary soap have sent me a gift box containing 4 bath melts to giveaway to one lucky winner.

There are 4 different melts in the set:

  • Lemongrass
  • Geranium Rose
  • Patchouli and Ylang Ylang
  • Lavender

For your chance to win this lovely gift set just complete these very simple steps:

  • Head over to Visionary Soap’s Facebook page here saying Emmys Mummy sent you, or follow them on Twitter here saying I sent you.
  •  A bonus entry will be given if you follow my blog (right hand side of this page)

Comment below telling me which steps you have completed.  Only comments on this blog will be counted as entries.

Competition closes at 9pm on 23rd August 2011.
