It is all fun when you are making the most of a long festival weekend, having the time of your life with the ultimate Minecraft bubble sword the lights up but all the merry-making will have its toll on your body and mind. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you bounce back when you get home and ensure you are ready for the week.
1: Wash Your Attires
Start with removing your clothes, what you have on and in your bags, and throw them into the washing machine. Tune your mind to doing laundry when you go past the doorway, no matter how tired you feel. You will be thankful you did this first thing when you arrived. You do not want to open your bags a few days later to find dirty and smelly clothes.
2: Run A Show Or Bath
A hot shower or a bubble bath will be a rewarding experience after a weekend of camping and fun. It can help soothe tired muscles, blow the cobwebs off your head, lift the hangover, and make you feel more human and less of a zombie.
3: Get Some Sleep
The weekend was a bevy of merry-making. You had fun and lots of dancing and drinking. That means sleep might not have features anywhere in your itinerary. All that activity now has you feeling spent and need rest. Therefore, let your bed be the comfort you seek immediately after taking a bath and take these gummies. Give your mind and body a chance to recuperate, ready to tackle what the world throws at you.
4: Rehydrate
Alcohol might be the popular liquid of choice you had over the long, fun weekend. But now, you must switch to water and drink lots of it to rehydrate your parched body. Water also helps you detoxify after the heavy drinking session.
You can also hydrate your body with popular hydrating drinks such as milk, fruit juices, watermelon, sports drinks, tea or coconut water. These drinks are the best for hydration, but in some cases they don’t help. If you have a severe, complex level of dehydration, you should try treatments such as IV therapies and especially banana bag therapies. Amazingly, this therapy can help you recover, because banana bag contents are special electrolytes and vitamins, such as magnesium, thiamin, and folate, which are often limited in the body of alcoholics.
5: Enjoy Some Relaxing Time
The bank holiday Monday is an opportunity to rest up more. You can spend much of the day in bed or being a couch potato as you binge on Netflix or watch some DVDs.
6: Eat Well
during the entire weekend of fun, your diet probably comprised booze and junk foods. Therefore, your body does not need more of such unhealthy eating. Switch over to healthy choices, doing more fruits and veggies as you recuperate. Craving junk food might be an issue but do not give in to what your body longs for; instead, try and balance things with nutritious dishes like a fruit/veg smoothie that help you get back on track.
7: Remember Your Mental Health
The different activities you enjoyed over the weekend, besides the drinking and eating junk foods, had your mind racing. But you now feel somewhat down after the exhilarating experience. You can counter this by showering, resting up, and eating healthier when at home. Moreover, you will be around the folk who make you feel good. Avoid being alone when feeling down; instead, spend time with those who lift your spirits.
8: Exercise
Returning to your workout routine, be it jogging, running, or cycling, might be the last thing on your mind. However, jump back on this saddle by pacing yourself. Take things easy with gentle exercises. For instance, you can start with a walk and then transition to jogging before you begin running. The sweat you break will also help your get rid of the hangover.
9: Stay Away From Caffeine
You might consider a glass of cold coke or that cup of coffee as an ideal pick-me-up to get you going after the heavy binge drinking and eating over the weekend. However, you will be consuming caffeine which only prolongs the hell you are enduring because of the fatigue and hangover. It is best to stick to water or a natural juice.
10: Be Gentle To Yourself
Go easy on yourself after a hectic weekend of merrymaking. Reward yourself by doing something nice over the next two days as you bounce back to your usual way of life.
