Weight and body issues are a constant in everyday life.
When I was at School I was always very slim, I was a size 8 when Paul and I got together when I was 21 (a whole 14 years ago). Unfortunately Paul has a metabolism which means he can eat whatever he likes and he stays slim – I definitely don’t. When we were dating take-aways and meals in restaurants took there toll on my waistline and by the time of planning our wedding a crash diet was needed.
It worked and when I walked down the aisle aged 27 I was a size 10, worry, excitement and stress did pay it’s part too.
Fast forward and pregnancy cravings, grief, C-sections and daily life takes over and crash diets aren’t all they seem.
Throughout the years I have tried many fad diets from barely eating, calorie counting to weight watchers and while I have lost weight on those they were always short lived and once I had stopped then gradually my weight crept back up again.
I thought it was about time for another update.
I have stopped weighing myself as weight is just a number and looking down at the changing numbers weekly isn’t actually a clear indicator of how I am doing and how I am feeling. Muscle weighs more than fat does so when exercise is included the scales do change and it’s not always in the direction we want it to go.
Measurements: OK here goes – since January to date I have lost
Waist = 7 1/2 cms
Hips = 4 cms
Thighs = 3 1/2 cms
Bust = 5 cms
That’s a massive 20cm’s over 4 measurements and of course I have lost it elsewhere too but I only took the 4 measurements.
Well after listening to my Slimpod now for 12 weeks and actually longer as this post is delayed (I have been naughty and had breaks but the ground work has been set so I’m not worried).
How do you think I’ve done? Has it worked?
It has been a very long time since I was happy wearing tight fitting clothes yet here I am and the new outfits I am choosing are mainly figure hugging ones.
I feel a lot happier and am continuing to listen to the Slimpod and continue with the 5:2 which is working for me just now – 2 diet days a week with just 500 calories for those days, this mean I can have all the treats I want to and don’t feel like I’m depriving myself of what I like. The Slimpod has helped me with portion sizes and stopping eating when I am full.
I still have a roll on my tummy and weight to lose – I’m a Mummy to 2 children and have had 2 C-sections this won’t go away without exercise which is being introduced now Harry is at School, well that’s the plan but I’ve only managed 1 run so far but it’s a start right?
