This is my favourite time of the year. As soon as Halloween has passed us by we start binge-watching all the Christmas movies, the Christmas jumpers come out and I have to admit that our Christmas tree has been up and decorated since the 16th November, and I have no guilt about that. Christmas makes me happy. I love seeing the excitement on the children’s faces when they see the tree all lit up, notice new presents wrapped and under the tree, and, of course, it is the season of snuggling up under blankets while drinking hot chocolate, singing carols and getting completely into the festive spirit.

As the children get older, I know the spirit of the season dies off a little, so I am determined to make all the magic last for as long as possible; maybe that’s why the tree comes out in November and the Christmas movies start super early, but I want to keep them excited for this magical season for as long as I possibly can – because it won’t be long before Emmy is sitting GCSE’s and Harry moves up to secondary school – these childhood years pass far too quickly.

Daisy Moon Earrings

These are dainty earrings which would be perfect to wear in school, where larger ones are generally not allowed or they could be worn stacked with larger earrings in additional piercings. They would also be good for younger children as starter earrings as they are not heavy and while looking pretty they wouldn’t catch on clothing. They are also Lead & Nickel free and hypoallergenic. LED Jewellery Armoire with Mirror

I have bedroom envy over this beautiful LED jewellery armoire with mirror from Vonhaus. It makes me want to have my very own dressing room big enough for stunning items such as this. However, the great thing about this product is that it is multi-functional, so is space-saving as well as extremely practical and would be perfect for any teen (or adult) bedroom.

Emmy is FOREVER sitting in front of her mirror in her bedroom, putting on her make-up or doing her hair. She sits cross-legged on the floor with her make-up spread all around her. This will save all of that mess as there will be no need to spread the make-up everywhere; it can all be stored in the drawer at the bottom of this armoire. The drawer is the perfect size to keep all her make-up safely inside and close enough to the floor that she can access it quickly, and, more importantly, put it all away again!

It has a large mirrored front with LED battery-powered lights which gives the perfect lighting, especially if this is placed away from the natural lighting in the room. The drawer can also double up as a shelf for additional storage space should you need it, perhaps for your pretty perfume bottles you would like out on display. It also has a cradle on the side to hold your hair dryer.

Inside it is the magical storage space for all of your jewellery items. It can hold 77 rings in the top section, displaying them so you can easily find them when you want to change around. It has a whopping 56 earring grooves for you to keep 28 pairs of earrings, 15 necklace hooks (of course, you can double some up if you need to) and 4 shelves for your make-up, brushes, nail polishes, etc. There are magnets on the door to keep it closed, so it helps to give the illusion of being clutter-free and everything in its place, although with a space for everything, even if the door is left open, it shouldn’t look untidy.

You could easily house your make-up on the shelves and then use the drawer at the bottom for hair brushes, hair accessories deodorants etc. This will (hopefully) help keep those teens’ bedrooms a little tidier and organised, sadly, it won’t fix the washing all over the floor or the cups and plates left in their rooms, but we can’t win every battle.

Theatre Tickets

Buying a gift for an experience or a day out is possibly one of my favourite things, either to receive it myself or to gift it to someone. It means you have put a little more thought into what that person would like, and is something for them to look forward to beyond the Christmas period. Of course, if you buy an experience/day out for two people, it could be implied that you really want to spend the day with that person (let’s gloss over the fact that you probably would have liked that gift yourself so in a way you buy it so you can experience it too).

Word of warning: You do run the risk of the recipient taking someone else unless you state that it’s the two of you going or you have given it as a joint gift to a couple, then it’s a given for the two of them.

As this guide is for teens, I don’t think I’ll fall foul of this happening as Emmy will rely on me to get her into London. She and a friend managed to get lost in our home town over the Summer, so there is no way she will get on a train without me for a few years.
