Fun Ways to Announce Your Pregnancy

Being pregnant is an immensely exciting time for most soon-to-be parents and many just want to tell as many people as possible straight away. However, it’s common to wait until around about 12 weeks as you probably know, after which it’s up to you to decide just how to break the amazing news to your friends and family.
 

Here are just a few ideas…
 

For the most important people you could send them a small gift that indicates that you’re pregnant. For example, you could send your parents a children’s book with a note saying ‘this is for you to read to your grandchild’. You can expect a moment of confusion before the realisation kicks in!

 

 

If you want something to treasure forever then a photograph is a great idea and having it done professionally will ensure it’s as good as it can possibly be. The guys at Venture are excellent and pregnancy photography is one of their specialities. They will ensure you’re comfortable but also that the session is a lot of fun. You can then keep a copy for yourself whilst sending copies around to family and friends too.

Get your other children involved

 

If you already have children then it might be a good idea to get them involved. It’s not uncommon for your children to feel a little put out or jealous when they know another baby is on the way, and getting them involved is a really great way of making them feel part of everything. You can take a photo of them holding up a sign announcing the pregnancy or get them to announce it themselves in a video.

Or how about Becky’s (The Mummy Adventure) fun announcement recently, featuring her two gorgeous boys starring as Thing 1 and Thing 2:

Making a video is great because it can allow you to be as creative as you want. You can do a simple message telling people or you can act out a scene to make it even more dramatic. This is also a great idea if you live a distance away from your friends and family, meaning you can spread the good news at once from wherever you are in the world.

 

 

If you haven’t yet told your partner that you’re pregnant then why not tell him at the same time as everyone else? You could do this whilst everyone is together, perhaps at a family get together or you could video or photograph his reaction as you tell him and send that to people as the announcement. If you capture it right then it’s sure to be a great photo!

I told everyone (barring Paul) at the same time when I was pregnant with Harry – in the way I do most things these days – via a blog post revealing I’ve got a secret to tell, this was when I was 8 weeks pregnant and was accompanied by Harry’s first scan picture.

 

 

 

The most important thing is to break the news how and when you feel most comfortable, but it can be a lot of fun to do it in a creative way. Just check out some of these great ideas for inspiration and have some fun with it!
