Luxury would be on the cards if I won the lottery

Posted on September 26, 2019September 27, 2019

**Collaborative post**

Well, wouldn’t that be nice?

I’m sure we have all had that dream where all of our numbers match up correctly and we are the only winner in a MASSIVE jackpot lottery win!  I’ve certainly had if often.

What would you buy?

I’ve obviously a very long list of things I would love.

There are so many luxuries which could be purchased such as a new car – we don’t actually need one as I work from home and walk the children to school and clubs – I have always walked them, even in the rain as it is far better than relying on a car and actually quicker to walk anyway. A new car wouldn’t be used very often which is why it would be a luxury item – it’s been many years since I had a shiny new car, there seems little point buying new when they depreciate in value the minute it’s driven off of the forecourt.

I would love another 4×4 – I really miss my Landrover.  Of course, it wouldn’t be hugely practical for the school run – a 4×4 isn’t exactly needed where I live but if you win the lottery who cares about being practical?

Off-Road Cars - Vector set.

A new house would be on the cards too – I’ve previously shared with you the idea that we may move to Norfolk with my parents, all together into a bigger house. This would be at least 5 bedrooms so we can have friends and family come to stay and Mum and Dad would have their own en-suite bedroom and a front room of their own to give them their own space. It would have a decent sized garden too as my parents breed parrots so would need an aviary.

It may be a pipe dream currently, but both their health deteriorating it would be far easier to live under one roof so I could take some of the pressure off of them – cook for them and take over their cleaning but would mean they had their own space away from us as they are far too used to living alone now. With a lottery win – this pipe dream could be turned into a reality and perhaps could mean two houses next door to each other so they had even more freedom and space of their own.

I would love to take the kids to Australia – it’s somewhere they have been asking to go to for a very long time, we have a cousin who lives there and they know myself and their Dad have been before they were born. Disney is also on their wish list and to be fair anywhere where they get to go on an aeroplane would make them happy especially as we have just lost our planned and paid for trip to Turkey which we were going on in October, but aren’t now to due a travel agency collapse. I am desperately trying to rebook this but as we were due to go in 4 weeks time the prices have all been hiked up so much that it may not happen now. I am so sad for the children who’ve been looking forward to this since I booked it last October.

Of course, if I were to win the lottery it wouldn’t be an issue at all to rebook as I wouldn’t have to join the thousands scrambling for the last available flights and package holidays, I could easily look into private jet hire and hire a luxury villa on a private island with a private chef and many other luxuries I’d not be able to afford otherwise.

Wouldn’t that be amazing? Staying on a private island somewhere, no having to get up early to put our towels out on the sunbeds – that’s my least favourite part of holidays and I really do think it should be banned completely.

What do you hate about holidays?

I also hate having to cook while away, it’s the only time I get to have a holiday and I certainly do not want to be stuck in a kitchen preparing meals and washing up…..actually, maybe I could have a private chef at home too – yes a girl can dream can’t she!

cruise dream

The kids and I would also like our own hospitality box at the O2 so we wouldn’t have to miss a show again but could watch in comfort – and a driver for those show nights as getting home from the O2 on these busy nights can be a nightmare – or of course a suite in a posh London hotel for these occasions…..

What would be first up on your wish list if you won the lottery?
