It’s never too early to start reading to babies.
I have read to Harry since birth. He loves someone talking to him and it really doesn’t matter what you read to be honest. I used to get Paul to read the paper to him when he was a newborn.
Now he is older he loves books as much as his big sister, loves turning the pages and looking at bright colours.
2 books he is currently enjoying are books we were given by Parragon Books at BritMums:
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
A cute board book of the classic Nursery rhyme Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, the characters are very cute owls in pastel colours and the book features 4 light up sound buttons which Harry loves to press and jumps and dances around when he hears them.
This has become his favourite so far as he loves the independence of pressing the buttons for himself.
The thick sturdy pages means he can turn the pages without fear of ripping anything.
Priced at £5.99 this 10 paged book is a great addition to an early library collection.
The second is another board book called Peekaboo Rainbow
A beautifully illustrated book featuring a rainbow which encourages children to learn their colours – the rainbow shape forms the handle of this book which can be carried around and there are peek-holes cut out in all pages which Harry loves poking his fingers through and looking through.
