Be school run ready with these fashion essentials

Posted on January 29, 2021

**Collaborative post**

Not every mum has the time or the desire to get glammed up for the school run. The idea of applying a full face of makeup while you feed the baby, with the dog barking at the mailman and your older children squabbling over their toys doesn’t exactly scream glamour – just stress and more responsibilities to burden yourself with.

Thankfully, there are plenty of ways you can look good and feel great on those busy mornings where you’re trying to get everyone out of the house on time. Whether they’re catching the school bus, or you’re driving them to school yourself, be school run ready with these easy fashion essentials, and let’s face it – we’ve had nowhere to go for months so the school run may soon be an occasion where we remove loungewear for a change.

Eyewear essentials

Your eyewear says more about you than you might think. And if it’s been a while since you updated your glasses, you might want to consider transition lenses. Transition glasses at EyeBuyDirect.com are the perfect solution for busy moms on the go, eliminating the need for your prescription sunglasses and protecting your eyes from the powerful UV rays of the sun. These clever lenses cleverly adapt to the lighting environment around you, turning dark in brighter environments and lighter again when you need them.

The convenience of only wearing one pair of frames means you’ll never have to worry about leaving your sunglasses on the kitchen counter, or having them accidentally crushed in your day bag. And what’s more, they’re available in a stunning range of all shapes, sizes, colours and styles so if you want to express a little bit of your personality whilst juggling all those mom jobs, transition lenses have got you covered.

A good bag

Whether you have infants at home or you have children of all ages to care for, every mom needs a good (strong handled) handbag or purse to keep her essentials in. From your smartphone and keys to the kid’s lunch money, diapers, pacifiers and hand sanitiser, even your face coverings. A good handbag or purse is a school run essential. But don’t be drawn to those oversized baby and diaper bags, sure they’re practical, but consider swapping it for a stylish alternative instead.

The right shoes

The right shoes not only make your day a little easier, but they can make you look and feel great. And just because you’re on the school run, it doesn’t mean you have to compromise style for comfort.

The weather may dictate what shoes are appropriate, but you can find a way to elongate your legs, walk with confidence and look a million dollars regardless of what the weather is doing. Knee-high boots with a short block heel for winter, pretty flats or ballerina pumps for the spring and some strappy sandals for summer that show off those freshly polished nails. You’ll be able to dash here and there and still look fantastic.

And finally, a reusable coffee mug

No more cold cups of coffee in the morning! We all need a little get-up-and-go sometimes, so make sure yours is always piping hot and treat yourself to a reusable coffee mug. It’ll keep your coffee hot all morning and you can take it in the car with you! It’s the ultimate mum accessory – of course, it’s for you and not the kids!
