Emmy loves her dolls and if you can combine dolls and collectables she is in her element, add the words collectable to anything and kids just go mad for them – well they sure do in this household.

Candylocks dolls are the latest collectable from Spinmaster Toys.

These dolls have super long cotton candy hair which is far longer than their bodies and perfect for practising hairstyles with.

There are two different sizes of Candylocks to choose from – the large ‘Deluxe’ style dolls and the small surprise dolls which come packaged like ice cream cones.

Deluxe Candylocks dolls

Emmy was sent one of each doll to play with and here’s what she thought.

I really love these dolls, they are cute and their hair smells amazing. It’s a bit annoying that you can’t brush their hair but you can twist it and make up different hairstyles so that is really cool.

I like that I can sit them down and pose them and the accessories they come with are very pretty too.

I want to collect them all and practice hairstyles on them.

As Emmy has already mentioned, you actually cant brush their hair. It’s not the type that can be brushed and if you do try you end up with it falling out. It comes in long strands which you twist into different styles, plait or tie-up with bands to create new styles.

The Deluxe doll stands at 20cm high and has 30cm of multi-coloured hair to play with.

Our Deluxe doll is Straw Mary and she looks and dresses like a strawberry, with a red and green strawberry dress, red and green shoes and of course red and green hair. She also comes with a strawberry hair slide/comb accessory, a blue hair extension accessory and a little pot of hair chalk which can be used on your doll or in your own hair.

Due to the long hair, these dolls are great for plaiting – Emmy has been practising normal plaits, french braids and fish plaits using her doll – anything other than a normal plait is a lot harder as the hair is so thick.

There are two of these Deluxe dolls available to buy and they retail at £20.

These are much smaller dolls which come packaged like ice creams, you unwrap the hair to discover which doll you have.

These are priced at £9.99 each and comes with 6 surprise accessories in blind bags inside your ice cream cone packaging.

With 15 inches of super-soft cotton candy hair, you are able to style the hair just like the larger deluxe versions.

Unwrap your new scented collectable friend and then discover your surprise accessories which match your doll perfectly – you’ll discover 3 hair gems, a hair twirler and 2 hairpin accessories which match your doll’s colouring/theme.

What Emmy thought:

I love how these look like ice creams, they are really cute and these smaller dolls are a perfect size to take out on day trips in my bag so I have something to play with in the car or on the train.

I like styling their hair but don’t like the scent of these, it is wearing off though which is good.

As Emmy says, these are scented but it’s very hard to say what they smell like, to me it’s a plastic-type smell, we left them in the garden on a sunny day and the scent was less overpowering after that.
