Different Types Of Pyjamas For Women

Posted on October 3, 2022April 14, 2023

**Collaborative post**

With so many different fashion styles and formal clothes flooding the market, sometimes it’s easy to forget about pyjamas.

They are the epitome of comfort and probably the clothes you spend the most time in.

While it is true that you spend most of the time you are wearing pyjamas asleep, there is something about putting on pyjamas after a long day’s work that just can’t be beaten. They are super comfortable and are step one in helping yourself to wind down. Being able to put on your pyjamas means that you get to stay at home and have no further obligations.

Pyjamas may seem simple at first, there are so many different styles on the market to choose from. They can vary in style, colour, and material, similar to daytime clothes.

So, we have created a guide on some of the many different types of pyjamas you can get. For more information on where you can get some of these pyjama types visit Eberjey.

Sweats

Sweats are the ultimate pyjamas. This is because they are so comfy to sleep in, but you can also get away with wearing them outside and not draw too many confused looks. This means you get to literally roll out of bed and immediately start your day.

Sweat pants have become a style trend lately for their super soft texture and ability to achieve a relaxed yet put-together look. They also help to keep you warm in the colder months.

You are able to get sweats in a variety of colours and patterns to match your personality and style.

Pyjama Set

This is the most classic of pyjama types. They typically consist of a lightweight sleep shirt and pants. They are super simple but a staple for any closet.

The shirt and pants are usually sold as a pair so you get them in matching colours or designs. Some pyjama sets also come with designs in reference to pop culture to add a bit of fun to your sleepwear.

These pyjamas are ideal to wear year-round as the shirt can be long or short-sleeved and the pants can also be long or short.

Oversized Sleep Shirt

There is literally nothing comfier than an oversized shirt. You can get sleep shirts that are large button-up shirts, or ones that are literally just big t-shirts.

An oversized sleep shirt acts as an almost dress but you are able to pair them with shorts or pyjama pants in order to be extra covered in the colder temperatures.

One of the largest benefits of an oversized sleep shirt is how easy it is to put on. You simply slide it over your head and you are done, no need to put on any bottoms or tie any strings.

Nightgown

Owning a nightgown is the pinnacle of elegance. You get to wear luxurious clothing that makes you look and feel good. Just because you are asleep doesn’t mean you can’t look fancy.

Nightgowns come in a variety of designs, colours, and fabrics, the most common being silk and cotton.

As well as looking fantastic, nightgowns can also help to keep you cool during the summer as they typically aren’t made out of heavy or thick material.

Onesie

Onesies are a must during winter. Not only do you feel very warm, but you look super cute in them.

They are like you have wrapped yourself in a warm blanket but you have full mobility.

The best part about onesies is their designs. While you are able to get simple ones that come in block colours, onesies can get very extravagant. They can come in any colour, and a variety of patterns, you are even able to get onesies that look like certain animals!

Dressing Gowns And Robes

While we don’t recommend wearing them to sleep, dressing gowns and robes still count as a part of sleepwear.

You typically wear them over your pyjamas in the colder months in order to provide extra warmth. You are able to get summer robes that are made out of lightweight material.

Most robes are super soft and comfortable to wear.

Final Thoughts

Similar to your everyday closet, your pyjamas should be an extension of your personal style, and hopefully, this guide has given you some ideas on how to accomplish this.

Now that you know what pyjamas suit certain types of temperatures or styles you can have the comfiest night’s sleep in your new sleepwear.
