Posted on September 22, 2021January 13, 2024

**Collaborative post**

We all know at least one. You might even be one yourself. The so-called grown-ups taking care of all of their responsibilities and adulting their way through life as best as possible, but with just a bit of the little kid still in them. For the big kids that have plenty of humour, imagination, and zest in them, here are a few ways to get that kiddy side of them feeling giddy.

Get techy with it

A lot of kids at heart are constantly plugged in and ever excited about the next tech phenomenon coming over the hill, whether it’s the latest series of iPhones, drones, virtual reality headsets, or otherwise. If you have the budget for it, then you should look at some of the best tech gifts that are currently on the market. No doubt they won’t shut up about it and will be showing you all the cool things they can do with it for weeks to come, but if it makes them happy, it’s worth it, right?

Get them geeking out

A lot of kids-at-heart are defined, in part, by the big fandom that got them into nerd culture, to begin with. It might be D&D, it might be Lord of the Rings, and for a lot of both men and women, it’s a deep love of Hogwarts and everything therein. This is just one way you can speak to their inner fanboy or fangirl, but things like custom Harry Potter wands can be quite easy to find online and can get their head racing with all those long-held wishes of being part of that magical universe.

Help establish a skincare routine

They aren’t likely to ask for skincare products, and may not thank you immediately. But getting into caring for your skin early on is always good practice and they will indeed be grateful in later years. This website can help find all they will need.

Embrace their inner memelord

Is your loved one the kind of person who is always sending you inscrutable yet hilarious images through social media, only for them to become in-jokes for years after? If you’ve got a meme lover in your life, then what better way to make them smile than by throwing it back at them with choices like  Spongebob masterpiece meme toys. Don’t let their memes be dreams, make them a reality so they can look over at them for a quick giggle at any old time.

Bigger and bolder jewelry

We tend to downsize on the accessories for our younger children, studs only for school incase of accidents or now in many cases they aren’t actually allowed to wear them at all.

Once they are older they are less likely to be running around the playground so now could be the time for allowing those best huggie hoops they have been eyeing up for years.

They are a easy way of changing an outfit from a day one to a night time one in just a few steps. They can change their earrings, add a sparkly pair of heel and that new clutch bag make the perfect place to store their titanium hoop earrings before changing for a night on the town.

An excuse for playtime

A lot of kids at heart love nothing more than getting people around for a fun board game together. If the game is easy to get into, funny, or gets people light-heartedly bickering, then it’s even better. We’re not talking about the same old game of Monopoly, but rather there is a range of incredibly popular social deduction games like Secret Hitler and Werewolf that are quickly growing to become staples of adult gaming nights. It’s all about keeping secrets while ferreting out others, meaning it makes for great antagonistic fun.

Show the grown-up kid in your life just how much you understand them by speaking to that youthful spark that keeps them so happy and free. It’s a great way to show that you accept and love that goofy side of them.
