Harry’s Pirate themed room

Posted on January 18, 2013August 6, 2016

It took me a while to decide on a theme for Harry’s bedroom, I wanted something suitable for a boy however not too babyish which would need redecorating in 2 years time as I made that mistake with Emmy, and now 3 years on we are having to decide on a new theme as the Brown Bears nursery theme just isn’t suitable for her anymore – she wants a princess theme.

We started with Blue walls and dark Blue coving and already had a Blue wardrobe in the as well as inbuilt storage and shelves.

I then found the perfect rug which a lovely friend Liz brought for Harry and built the room from there.

Here is Harry’s perfect bedroom – I LOVE it.

Harry seems to like his room too.  The rug was a present for Harry, bunting and bookends were buys from Zulily, the stickers on the walls were my eBay bargain of 99p and the gorgeous ‘H’ door hanging and the adorable Boat canvas were custom made by a very good friend of mine Marty who makes and sells Nursery art work from her website Dinky Drew Designs.

I’m over the moon with our custom items, so much so that I’m sharing the love with you (I paid full price for these items and LOVE them so much).  I told Marty the bedroom theme and asked her to make me a door hanging, I told her the size I wanted and the style of letter and left the rest up to her, and she got it spot on.  I actually cried when I opened the parcel just before Christmas.  The boat is made from drift wood found on Brighton Beach and is perfect.
I paid £15 plus postage for the door hanging and £45 plus postage for the canvas.

I would love for you to say hello to Marty over on Facebook and Twitter.
