How to Fit a Nursery Properly

Posted on July 21, 2021July 22, 2021

**Collaborative post**

So you have a little nugget on the way; congratulations! So many feelings and emotions must be running through your body at the moment, and you’re probably nervous and excited all at the same time. That’s okay! You’re entering into an entirely new stage of your life, and whether you’ve noticed it by now or not, there’s a lot to do before the big day arrives! That said, here are some tips on how to properly fit that cozy nursery that will keep your baby snuggled up and comfy at night.

Planning

In order to properly fit a nursery, you’ll want to do some pre-planning. First, try thinking about what your baby’s basic needs will be, such as sleeping, feeding, and having their diapers changed. Thinking about these aspects will help you create a mental picture and make it much easier to start planning where everything will go in the nursery.

Basics

The next thing on your list of what goes in the nursery is their bedding and pillows. It’s best if you can find a set with animals, shapes, textures, etc., so that baby has plenty of things to learn and discover. There are so many options for Nursery bedding that it might be hard to pick just one! After the bedding comes all of the furniture, such as a crib (make sure you get one with safety features!), a dresser, changing table, rocking chair/sofa, lamps; the list goes on! Luckily, nursery furniture is made to be functional and cute at the same time, so it’s hard to go wrong.

Color Schemes

Also, it’s important to plan for your nursery colors. The nursery should have one primary color and then a few accent pieces that are either complementary or contrasting in terms of hue. This will ensure that the room is cohesive while still having some variety! You’ll also want to keep in mind nursery furniture placement, as many items will need to be within reach of the baby and any changes they might make while sleeping. Make sure you have plenty of space on all sides so that your little one can’t get out of their crib or access anything hazardous!

Decor

The last thing you’ll want in the nursery is a few decorations. The best option would be some artwork that features your child or photos of them as they grow up! That way, your baby will always remember their childhood when they look at those pictures.

All that’s left to do now is to fill all the drawers and cupboards with your little one’s tiny clothes, toiletries, and belongings – this is one of the most exciting parts! You’ll be seeing how the entire nursery comes together right before your eyes, and suddenly, you won’t be able to wait until you can lay your tiny miracle down in their beautiful space designed especially for them. Then, when those late nights arrive and you have to shush your baby to sleep at two in the morning, you’ll be grateful to have a nursery made to keep the both of you comfortable at all times.
