Magic Moves Wand by Learning Resources – Review

Just in time for Emmy’s birthday we were sent a Magic Moves Electronic Wand by Learning Resources.

This is a interactive wand aimed at children aged 3-7 which is designed to get them moving in a fun way, exercising and having great fun.

“Shake it up, work it out, magic moves it all about moving”

Shaped like a microphone so it is easy to hold, you press the green button and it tells you how to move – examples are:

  • Hop like a frog
  • Climb like a spider
  • Stretch like a giraffe
  • Swim like a seal
  • Jump like a rabbit

There is then a short burst of music for the child to move around to.  The idea is to encourage movement so there is no right or wrong way to move it is all about having fun.  There is a repeat button so if you missed what was said or if you really enjoy one movement you can repeat this again.

With 90 fun commands, 26 tunes and flashing lights what isn’t to love.  Emmy really enjoys it when we all join in with her too – she likes playing teacher getting us to stomp, twirl and dance around the kitchen.

This is good for turn taking as we can share who presses the buttons, encourages gross motor skills and is great for encouraging listening skills too.  Emmy is just as happy playing with this alone as she is playing and sharing with a group of friends.

Priced at £17.49 this is good for the whole family to enjoy.

If you would like the chance to win one of these for yourselves Learning Resources have a competition running over on their facebook page until 1st March.  Good luck – we love it, it is great fun.
