**Disclaimer: some of the items included within this post have been sent for inclusion; as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own**

It’s been a very strange year for all of us and Mother’s Day will be far different from what many of us are used to as we are still in lockdown, meaning most of us, myself included, won’t be able to see their Mum’s on this special day.

I haven’t been able to see my wonderful Mum since November and I miss her so much. The afternoon’s spent having lunch and a coffee, catching up, having dinner and spending time together as a family has been what I have missed most this time, and I honestly can’t wait until we are able to all get together again soon.

In preparation for when we can get together, Buyagift has kindly sent me a voucher for an afternoon tea for 4 people with Piglet’s Pantry. These vouchers are valid for 20 months, so as soon as lockdown is officially lifted and we can see my parents again I will be booking up this lovely afternoon tea for us all to enjoy.

afternoon tea for 4 e1615460723831

I do love an afternoon tea, and with the cafe’s, pubs and restaurants being closed – this is a lovely way to enjoy one in the comfort of your own home.

Once you have your voucher, you go onto the Piglet’s Pantry website and choose your delivery date. The afternoon tea will stay fresh for 2 to 3 days in the fridge, so if your preferred date isn’t available you can get it a few days before and it will be fine. This gift is priced at £62.50 (price updated january 2024). Contained in the delivery is:

  • Four ham hock and mature cheddar quiches
  • Four traditional scotch eggs
  • Two large traditional sausage rolls
  • Two large sausage rolls with cheese and pickle
  • Four buttermilk scones
  • Four Rodda’s clotted cream
  • Strawberry jam
  • Four carrot cakes
  • Two blueberry banana and lemon curd cake
  • Two lemon drizzled loaf cake
  • Four tea bags

I can’t wait to enjoy a special tea with Mum and Dad.

Naked Collagen from Naked Nutrition

collagen powder e1615463166626

We don’t like to admit it but as we get older, our skin and body changes. Now there is nothing wrong at all with this but a little extra care and attention is sometimes needed to keep up looking and feeling in tip-top condition.

Naked Collagen has only one ingredient: Bovine hide collagen peptides and is free of additives and artificial sweeteners. It helps promote joint health, acts as an anti-inflammatory, helps repair a leaky gut, supports youthful skin, healthy hair, stronger nails and workout recovery! A great addition to your coffee or favourite hot beverage.

Collagen is one of the most abundant proteins found in the human body. It is responsible for providing strength, structure, and elasticity to skin, bones, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, and supplementing with collagen peptides can help you maintain optimal levels. RRP $41.99 (shipping is available to the UK).

Wine from Independent Wine

I am rather partial to a nice bottle of wine, however, I do tend to stick with those I know well and grab the same ones when I am in the supermarket. It is always nice to try something different and I know that Independent wines only stock those which they know others will love just as much as they do. I let them choose for me this time around and they certainly didn’t disappoint with a lovely bottle of red and white.

Castello di Radda 2017 | Chianti Classico DOCG – £19.40
An outstanding award-winning 2017 vintage Chianti Classico DOCG from the mountains of Radda
20210227 1512121973391742681719368 scaled e1615463945930

This delicious wine is crafted by the legendary Beretta family at their vineyard in Radda – the very heart of the Chianti Classico region. Located at 400 meters above sea level, the production yields are very low. Vines are planted densely, which ensures the grapes reach optimum quality before hand-harvesting takes place. The wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels which adds the distinctive taste of vanilla, spice and smoke. Before release, the wine is further aged in the bottle for at least six months.

K.Martini & Sohn, Paladium Gewurztraminer 2019 | Alto Adige DOC – £23.86

A highly expressive white wine with flavours of tropical fruits.

20210227 1517245090200558797499596 scaled e1615463980887

Made by an award-winning Swiss-Italian winemaker in Alpine vineyards of Alto Adige. Gewurztraminer is a highly aromatic grape used to produce beautifully fragrant wines. This excellent example was awarded a remarkable “two glasses” from Gambero Rosso, and three stars from I Vini di Veronelli. The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand in a family vineyard in the foothills of the Alps. The juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature to conserve the delicate aromas. The wine has a very expressive flavour, enlivened by high levels of acidity, and will definitely benefit from ageing and development in the bottle.

Flowers delivered to your door

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a surprise delivery of flowers to their door, be it for a special occasion, a get-well gift, Mother’s Day, or a just because I love you gifts.

It is a lovely way of showing someone you care and you have put some care and attention into their gift. This lovely British flower delivery company has all types of floral arrangements to help you show how much that special someone means to you, from seasonal classic bouquets and one-off deliveries to subscriptions where you can get flowers delivered weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

Food and Drink Hamper for the ladies – from Red Letter Day

ladies hamper

This is a lovely one which all up Mum’s would love – and if the kids are lucky, we may even share with them….only if they are good though.

It would also make a wonderful treat to ourselves for successfully surviving homeschooling yet again – I know I am well and truly overdue some me time and a special treat of three for that stress…I have a newfound respect for teachers that’s for sure.

A luxurious selection of treats, all packed up into a gorgeous wicker basket, is the perfect gift for those who love all things pink, bubbly and delicious! A gorgeous Pintail Candle is included, to be enjoyed whilst sipping a glass of cool Zonin Rosato Vino Brut. Those with a sweet tooth will adore the selection of sweet fancies.

Priced at £69.99 this really is a lovely gift – and there is a lot included. Inside the wicker basket you will find:

  • Gold Crown Round Cake 4 inches
  • Linden Lady Milk Chocolate Bar 100g
