An open letter to my girlfriends – Breast Cancer Awareness Month #Friendshipunwrapped

Posted on October 5, 2016October 6, 2016

To my girlfriends

You know who this is aimed at, I’ll not embarrass you by naming names.

Thank you so much for being there for me over the past year or so, the times have been tough and there have certainly been many bumps along the way.

You have held me while I’ve cried, picked me up when I’ve crumbled and fed me when just putting one foot in front of the other was too hard.

You’ve held my hand and wiped away my tears.

You’ve made me laugh and just been there.

I don’t say enough how much I love you, I don’t say thank you enough but you know.

You know you mean the world to me.

Loosing Anne last year to Breast Cancer was so hard for us all as a family, the gapping hole in our lives is still there and she is missed every day but it is with your kindness and caring that we got through each and every day.

Now it is my turn to hold your hands and to be your support when you need me.

I urge all my girlfriends to take 5 minutes to check for lumps and abnormalities, I urge you all to ensure you are up-to-date with your smear tests.

For the sake of 5 minutes please make that call you’ve been putting off!!

I will be there for you and I will hold your hand – together we are strong

Remember – I Love you xx

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and for the third year running Mission Deli have pledged to support Breast Cancer Care by donating £50,000 from their sales of their packs to the charity throughout October, as well as turning their original wraps pink to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

You can help to raise money for this fantastic cause – after all every penny raised will help go towards hopefully one day finding a cure for this awful disease. These special pink packets of Mission Deli wraps are available in supermarkets for £1.70.

Why not follow Mission Deli on social media channels for recipe inspiration and competitions too. You find them on Twitter and on Facebook.

In research carried out in support of Pinktober it was found that 51% of women said they couldn’t get through the difficult times without the support of friends, with 76% just wanting a friend to listen. I can certainly relate to this – when the tough times hit her it isn’t about the material things of flowers and chocolates which really help, it’s the support network which good friends bring to the situations which mean the most.

As it is Breast cancer awareness month we have been having fun with Deli Mission wraps to make lunches fun:

We’ve been thinking outside of the box for this and instead of wrapping these we’ve being using them together as you would 2 slices of bread, making a sandwich from them and then cutting into fun shapes – why not try it for yourself to see what fun scenes you can create for lunch.

Clare

Hi, I'm Clare (Emmy's Mummy). A former Nanny and Mother of 2 - Emmy (born February 2010) and Harry (born October 2012). We are Essex based and share our adventures and misadventures of a busy crazy life.

About Me

Hi, I’m Clare – Mum to Emmy and Harry, ex-nanny and the writer behind Emmy’s Mummy. Based in Essex, I share honest tales of family life, parenting teens, top tips from a former nanny and our love of adventures, food, and UK staycations. We’re always up for exploring – whether it’s a trip into London, a caravan break, or just getting outdoors with a picnic. This blog blends my nannying experience with the everyday chaos of raising tweens and teens. Thanks for joining us!
