Disclaimer: We received our meals in exchange for this post, as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Located at the far end of the Pleasure Beach Gardens you will find this lovely family fun tearoom where you can sit back, relax and enjoy wonderful homemade food in this family-run cafe.

Sara’s Tearooms opened in 1999 and has been serving hot and cold homemade food to those visiting the seaside ever since. Sitting on the beach you can sit outside at the back of this cafe and have a beautiful view of the golden beach and sea, or if you prefer you can sit outside at the front and watch families enjoying the rides, miniature golf and the fun in the Pleasure Beach Gardens. Of course, if you’ve had enough of being outside for a while you can sit indoors as there is plenty of seating, so even on the busier days, you’ll be able to be seated in this delightful cafe.

Open daily from 9.30am until 5pm you can enjoy a wonderful cooked breakfast or a breakfast roll or sandwich in the morning to help start your day on a full stomach.

Come lunchtime you’ll be spoilt for choice with food ranging from sandwiches, jacket potatoes or bigger meals from burgers and hot dogs, loaded fries, fish and chips and so much more. Or you could enjoy one of Sara’s signature homemade cakes which you find hard to choose from as there is such a wonderful and wide range available, from scones to coffee cake, lemon drizzle cake and so much more.

We headed in for a late lunch/early dinner at 4.30pm – there was plenty of seating both inside and out and we could sit wherever we wanted. We started out by sitting facing the beach outside but it was really breezy so we headed back inside.

We all chose hot meals to start with – Emmy chose Cheese and bacon-loaded fries, Harry opted for Scampi and Chips, while I went for Ham, Egg and Chips.

The service was really good and everything was served very quickly and piping hot – BUT make sure you arrive hungry as the portions here are HUGE! 2 of us could have definitely shared the loaded fries and still been full, Emmy kept on eating and the pile on her plate never seemed to go down – who doesn’t love endless food.

Harry’s portion was also huge, an adult’s size yet he managed nearly all of it, leaving only some of his chips, that boy does love to eat.

My Ham, Egg and chips were also huge with 3 slices of ham, 2 eggs and a massive pile of chips.

You aren’t rushed while in the cafe and can spend as long as you like over your meals, chatting, eating and resting after a busy day.

As well as delicious food, you are treated with a great range of drinks too – the children opted for milkshakes which can also come topped with whipped cream and marshmallows, and I chose a lovely summery iced cooler made with strawberry, basil and cucumber which was absolutely delicious and so refreshing.

We were so full after our meals that we were unable to even think about desserts however we were able to take a slice of homemade cake home each and I can confirm that they are every bit as tasty as they look, and you definitely will struggle to choose between them all – so if you can’t decide which is your favourite do remember that you are able to pick a few and take them home with you to enjoy when you aren’t so full up from your main meals. We enjoyed ours in our hotel room later in the evening with a hot cup of tea.

You can see the full menu online for yourself for when you visit.

Sara’s Tearoom is also dog-friendly and has gluten-free options for all your dietary requirements – with all food onsite freshly prepared with only the best ingredients and everything is homemade on-site by this family team.
