Sorelle wine tasting with Tamzin Outhwaite

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a very intimate and private event at the rather posh Soho House Hotel in London, the mention of lovely food and good company was enough to get me on a train and London bound, that was even before I read about the wine….

Don’t worry, I know I’m heavily pregnant – this was alcohol-free wine!! I haven’t turned into a pregnant lush just yet.

Arriving at the hotel on my own feeling by now rather underdressed as the only clothes item still fitting me were my comfy over-the-bump jeans, wind-swept and wet as it had been raining, I was ushered into a room only to find I was early and was faced with the lovely Tamzin being interviewed, so I was entertained brilliantly at the bar while everyone else arrived.

When the interview had finished we were led into a beautiful room where it became apparent how intimate this afternoon was to be – present were Tamzin, Kelly – Domestic goddesque, Helen – Coco Mama Style, Lucie – Mumsnet and Hannah – Pregnancy & Birth Magazine.

Presented with wonderful food, bottles of wine and forgetting the cameras in the room we got on with what girls do best – chatting.  Seriously, it was a lovely afternoon talking babies, pregnancy, kids, maternity and whatever else came up.  We drank our way through about 5 bottles of Sorelle, ate and completely forgot the time or we were there for in the first place.

A little about Sorelle – Sorelle is a 0% alcohol wine-style drink with an authentic wine taste which comes in two delicious flavours, a crisp, zesty Sauvignon Blanc flavour and floral Rosé – the definitive alternative to wine this summer.

I really enjoyed this alcohol-free wine. Wine is something I am missing this pregnancy, I have had the odd glass or two however this is something which can be drunk in the evenings to replace what had become my usual pre-pregnancy evening glass of wine.  It tastes fruity and is very refreshing however isn’t too sweet and tastes just as good as the Rose wines I have been missing.  It is also great for sharing with friends for afternoon lunch and has far less calories than a glass of wine.

It was hard to believe that Tamzin was due to give birth to her second daughter just weeks after this event, she look blooming and pregnancy was really suiting her.  Since this meeting Tamzin has had a beautiful baby girl called Marnie Mae a sister for Florence.  Congratulations go to Tamzin and Tom.
