Keep Track Of Your Belongings At All Times

This may seem like an obvious tip, but it’s important to keep track of your carry-on bag, laptop, and any other valuables you have with you at all times. If possible, avoid putting your valuables in the overhead bin – instead, keep them close to you in a small bag or backpack. This way, you can keep an eye on them and prevent someone from easily taking them without you noticing. If you must put your valuables in the overhead bin, make sure to secure them with a lock. This will deter would-be thieves and give you some peace of mind knowing that your belongings are safe.

Consider Doing A Baggage Wrap

If you’re really worried about your belongings being stolen, you can consider doing a baggage wrap. This is where your luggage is wrapped in a clear plastic film, making it more difficult for thieves to open and access your belongings. Baggage wraps are usually available at the airport, but you can also do it yourself with some cling film and a little bit of time. Baggage wraps are not foolproof, but they will make it more difficult for thieves to steal your belongings.

Use A Luggage Lock

Another good way to deter thieves is to use a luggage lock. This will make it more difficult for someone to open your bag and take your belongings. There are many different types of luggage locks available, so find one that suits your needs and budget. Many modern locks allow you to set your own combination, which is helpful if you tend to forget things.

Luggage locks are not unbreakable, but they can deter thieves if you are worried about someone breaking into your luggage.

Use An Airport Trolley

When you’re travelling, it’s important to keep your belongings close to you at all times. An easy way to do this is to use an airport trolley. Trolleys are great because they allow you to keep all of your belongings in one place, and they’re easy to wheel around the airport. If possible, try to find a trolley with a cover or rainproofing – this will help protect your belongings from the elements and make them more difficult for thieves to access. Trolleys are not perfect, but they can help keep your belongings safe.

Use A Luggage Storage Service

Many experienced travellers have often left luggage with storage services, especially if they spend long hours catching connecting flights or have a range of activities planned for their trip. However, before entrusting your belongings with any service, always check reviews and do some research to make sure the company is reputable.

Most storage services are reliable and will take good care of your belongings. However, it’s always important to do your research before using any service.

Get Baggage Insurance

Baggage insurance is a good way to protect your belongings in case they are lost, stolen, or damaged. Most travel insurance policies will cover your baggage, but it’s always a good idea to check with your insurer before you travel. Baggage insurance is not required, but it can give you peace of mind knowing that your belongings are protected.

Remember to shop around for quotes and read the fine print before purchasing any policy. Baggage insurance is a good way to protect your belongings, but it’s important to remember that it’s not required.

Pack Any Breakables Carefully

If you’re travelling with any fragile or breakable items, it’s important to pack them carefully. Wrap them in bubble wrap or padding and place them in a hard-sided suitcase. If possible, try to avoid packing them in your carry-on luggage – this will help reduce the risk of them being damaged or broken.

When packing breakables, always use caution and take care to prevent any damage. Unfortunately, when luggage gets checked in, airport staff can get quite rough with it – so there’s always a risk of breakage.

You can help keep your belongings safe when travelling through airports by following these tips. Remember to be vigilant and take precautions to deter thieves. And if possible, try to travel with someone else so that you can keep an eye on your belongings at all times.
