How to Prepare Your Body for Pregnancy

Trimester Timetable – Why Using A Pregnancy Calculator Is Important

Posted on April 16, 2019

**Collaborative post**

Using a pregnancy calculator is a great way to plan for the arrival of your baby. This is one of the most important dates in your life, right up there with your wedding date. You’ll want to know exactly when to expect your little bundle of joy’s entrance into the world.

Knowing your pregnancy due date will help you to plan for that special day and to get you as ready for parenthood as possible. It’s also a handy way to know how far along you are in your pregnancy each week, so you know that what you’re experiencing at each stage is perfectly normal.

Continue reading to find some of the advantages of knowing the date that will change your life forever, in a good way.

It Allows Time To Get Financial Matters In Order

If you don’t already have health insurance, now would be a good time to take some out. When researching, take a good look at the prenatal and postnatal services that the company offers. Also, if you don’t have a will, write one. If you already have one, update it to include your child as a beneficiary. It might also be a good time to look at life insurance too. Most parents insure themselves for at least 8 times their gross annual salary. This would be up to you and what you can afford.

It Allows Time To Plan The Things You Need To Buy

There are many things that we will want to buy for our baby. But before we break the bank, the most crucial items are clothes, diapers, a crib, swaddle blankets, lots of bibs, bottles if you are going to bottle-feed, a breast pump if you are going to breastfeed, a place to bath your baby and a car seat to transport your little one. You’ll figure out the other things as you need them.

Time to Think About If You Should Work Until Your Due Date

Decide if you want to work up to your due date or take a few weeks off before said date. Some mums-to-be want to have as much time as they can with their baby and opt to work until the very end. Other moms are just too tired and opt to take some more time off in their third trimester. Either way, choose what works for you and remember to inform your employer of your decision.

Allows Time To Get Your Home Ready

Preparation of the home is one of the most important things to do before the arrival of your child. Many women experience a primal need to nest. Some of the ways that women go about nesting are by cleaning the house top to bottom, organising all the cupboards and closets, packing away the baby clothes lovingly and getting everything perfectly in place for their little one. This usually occurs in the last couple of weeks of pregnancy. Remember to avoid harsh cleaning products and don’t lift any heavy objects. Ask your husband to move that ladder for you if you want to clean the pelmets. And don’t overdo it, tomorrow is another day.

Allows Time To Plan The Logistics

Another reason to find out your due date is so that your family can work out when to throw you that beautiful baby shower. If you have opted for a C-section or you have to have a C-section due to a medical reason, your medical team needs to know the exact date in order to book the theatre and the hospital stay. Here are some gift ideas for when you throw that baby shower.

Do It Your Way

Some people like graphs and books and other people plan using lists that they keep in their heads. Some people like using a pregnancy calculator to get the closest possible date to when their little one will arrive. Whichever way you plan, keep in mind that babies are easy to please. When your baby is loved, has food, warmth and shelter, chances are that they will be happy and content. You are going to rock this thing called parenthood.
